Gillian Lieberman and Edgar De Santiago’s time on “Temptation Island” has officially come to an end.
It’s been a wild ride for both G and E. Many tears were shed, spit was swapped and some bodily fluids were exchanged
Call it love or call it lust, but both Gillian and Edgar found a special someone to spend time with while on “Temptation Island.”
Their Time On "Temptation Island" Is Over
Gillian took a liking to Tommy Soltis while Edgar found comfort in the arms of Marissa Rodriguez.
Wednesday’s episode marked the final bonfire where the couples that came to the island in search of answers decide to leave with their significant other, alone or with a single they met along the way.
Prior to the final bonfire, Gillian had to say ‘goodbye’ to her 'TI' boyfriend.
“I’m just bad at goodbyes like, I just always am,” she told Tommy.
He responded, “It’s not a ‘goodbye’ it’s a ‘see ya later.’”
Gillian & Tommy Have To Say 'Goodbye'
Gillian realizes that a relationship off of “Temptation Island” is just not feasible.
“The way that I would want to exist in your life is just not possible on either end, for either one of us right now,” she said. “I just can’t get what I want. That has been a big lesson, cause I usually get what I want.”
However, all hope is not lost for G and T.
“Tommy and I definitely enjoy each other’s company. I think we have feelings for each other. I think there are a lot of logistical things that are working against us, but we are just going to continue talking and seeing how life goes,” she said.
On the other side of the Island, Edgar has to part ways with Marissa.
“You have come to mean so much to me in a short amount of time. I feel so lucky and blessed to get to know you,” he gushed to Marissa. “To be able to share moments with you and experiences that are once in a lifetime. I have so much love for you.”
She agreed and regrets not telling him she wanted to leave with him before parting ways.
On Gillian’s way to the final bonfire she said, “I came to the island because I needed to see if my college relationship was what I really wanted. I came in very dependent on Edgar. Every problem I had was Edgar will solve it. That made me forget who I am deep down.”
Edgar expressed how his journey on ‘TI’ has changed him for the better.
“Looking back, I was all in on Gillian and when the bonfires came I feel like I didn’t see Gillian, at least the Gillian I knew. That hurt, man. That sent me through a loop. When I first came to the island, I had my heart set on Gillian. Every bonfire hurt,” he said. “When I look at Marissa, I feel like I can see into her soul. I did get intimate with Marissa and it is beautiful. I know that some of the things I’ve done have hurt Gillian, but also I don’t know if I want to apologize for something that’s made me happy.”
Edgar Didn't See The Gillian He Knew During Her Time On The Island
During the bonfire, both Gillian and Edgar had the opportunity to speak uninterrupted before it became a conversation between the two of them.
G expressed her disdain for Edgar’s intimate hookup with Marissa.
“I do feel extremely disrespected by a couple of things. Hearing you tell me through the camera, ‘Leave me the f**k alone.’ I also had to watch you sleep with the girl you’ve been with, I mean that just hurt so bad. I have been there before with you and this time it hurts just as much if not more,” she expressed.
Edgar Wishes Gillian Would've Just Broken Up With Him
Edgar did admit to and apologize for cheating on Gillian in the past, but proceeded to call her a liar.
“I know I cheated on you and broke your trust. And I’m sorry. I’m sorry to do that to us, I’m sorry to do that to you,” he said. “To be honest, you kind of hurt me by bringing me here. You should’ve broke up with me.”
Edgar continued to explain that Gillian lied to him for nine months after he cheated.
SPOILERS AHEAD!
“You looked me in the face and told me you loved me… for nine months. And, I still don’t understand how you did that,” he said.
In the end, Gillian and Edgar decide it’s best they part ways; however, after Gillian leaves, Edgar asks for Marissa to be brough to the bonfire.
“I do feel conflict in my heart because I just saw Gillian, but I also know that I’m letting go of Gillian,” he told Marissa. “I want to continue to get to know you, but I want to take things as slow as possible. I would like to leave the island with you!”
NBCUniversalMarissa happily agrees and the two drive off in a large SUV into the darkness of the island.
Next week’s episode is part two of the “Final Bonfire.”
