Fans Are Calling Out Amy For Lack Of A Response Concerning Buffalo Shooting

Shortly after the first post, Amy reposted a tweet that read, “Anyone hear about Amy Schumer being traumatized by yesterday’s shooting? I wanna see something.” The post was dated May 15.

The “Trainwreck” star was quick to admit, “I’m getting a lot of posts like this.”

“Sending love to all the people in pain. If it makes you feel better to write this stuff to me have at it,” she wrote. “But I’m crushed like all of you. I work hard to fight the sickness we live in. I have for a long time now.”

“We are grieving with the people of Buffalo who have lost their loved ones and we ache with communities across the country that have once again born witness to an act of white supremacist terror,” she continued. “The victims were grandmothers, former police officers, deacons, a civil rights leader, and more. This mass shooting was an act of racist, hate-motivated violence, and an entire community has been forever traumatized. Once again, our country must reconcile its embrace of hate and easy access to guns.”

“The firearms industry has created a perfect storm for extremist terror to proliferate,” she went on. “It supports loose laws and policies that enable extremists to arm themselves; embraces and funds gun lobby groups that amplify dangerous lies of extremist movements; and then irresponsibly markets and sells extremists the deadliest weaponry it can produce. The gun industry must do its part to prevent tragedies like the mass shooting in Buffalo, and be held accountable when it doesn’t.”
