Sharp confessed to the charges and revealed that he had peed in the container “at least two times” for sexual gratification. The manager also expressed uncertainty concerning whether the mixture was thrown out or served to customers the next day.
The Police released a report, reaching out to customers who patronized the branch on the said date to contact them. The manager is scheduled to be arraigned on May 25.
Arby’s Manager Was Accused Of Peeing In Milkshake Mixture Container
A manager from a Vancouver Washington branch of the popular Arby’s fast food restaurant has admitted to urinating in the company’s milkshake mixture. According to the Police in Vancouver, Washington, the milkshake urine mix was served to dozens of customers.
Via a press release, the state’s law enforcement agency revealed that they uncovered footage of the 29-year-old manager, Sharp, peeing in a milkshake mix container. This was discovered while the Police were executing a search warrant on the night manager’s phone as part of a child pornography investigation.
The press release read, “A search warrant was executed on Stephen Sharp’s digital devices located on his personal and at his residence. A preliminary search by a DECU digital forensics investigator revealed a video of a subject later identified as Stephen Sharp urinating in a container confirmed to be milkshake mix from Arby’s.”
Sharp Urinated In The Mixture On ‘At Least Two Occasions’
Upon discovering the incriminating video, the Police revealed that the manager confessed to urinating in the container on “at least two occasions.” “Stephen Sharp confessed to detectives he urinated on at least two occasions into the milkshake mixture for sexual gratification,” the report read.
The Police then asked customers who bought a milkshake from the Arby’s branch on the specified day to reach out. It continued, “Police are asking if you purchased a milkshake from the Arby’s located at 221 NE 104 Ave, Vancouver WA on October 30 & 31, 2021, and you have a receipt or verified transaction information to confirm the purchase, please contact Detective Givens.”
According to the report, the Digital Evidence Cybercrime Unit didn’t locate any evidence that included the franchise in the act or indicated their knowledge of the 29-year-old’s actions.
Sharp Allegedly Contaminated Over 30 Milkshakes
According to The Columbian, the day Sharp peed in the milkshake mixture container, milkshakes were sold to customers. A second manager from the branch told the detectives that at least one ice cream float and 30 to 40 milkshakes were sold when the video was taken.
After confessing to his crime, Sharp said that after urinating in the milkshake mixture container, he was “almost sure” that he threw the container out. However, he added that it would have most certainly been served to customers the following day if the mixture didn’t get disposed of.
Dr. Alan Melnick, the Clark County Public Health Director, testified that there was no major health risk for people who consumed the urine-contaminated beverage.
A spokesperson from Arby’s released a statement to Fox, condemning the 29-year-old’s actions as “abhorrent and unacceptable.” “We have taken immediate action with the franchise group who terminated the former employee and is fully cooperating with the authorities in their investigation,” the spokesperson said.
Sharp Is Being Investigated For Child Pornography
The search on Sharp’s phone came as a result of the child pornography investigation, which was ongoing. The DECU at the Vancouver Police Department reportedly started the investigation after receiving cyber tips concerning online accounts suspected of downloading and distributing child exploitation imagery.
The ensuing search warrant produced four clips of suspected child pornography sent in a video and chat app. The account involved was estimated to be around the Arby’s branch in 104th Ave, Vancouver.
The Arby’s manager was contacted on May 10 by detectives and eventually confessed to the crime. He admitted to his downloading, possession, and distribution of the images. Sharp also admitted to having a sexual interest in children.
The 29-year-old was booked on four different charges relating to child pornography. He made his first court appearance last Wednesday and another on Friday for a new charge of second-degree assault with sexual motivation. This was in relation to the 16-section urination video found. On Friday, a judge raised Sharp’s bail from $5,000 to $40,000.
