Travis Barker and the Kardashian family recently took their relationship to the next level after the Blink-182 drummer tied the knot with Kourtney in Las Vegas last month. The union, which got conducted without a marriage license, has expanded the Kardashian family even further, adding three more kids from Barker's previous relationships.

While Barker and Kourtney's love life has brought greater attention to the Kardashians in recent months, the drummer recently acknowledged that his place in the family had been cemented long before its recent hype.

He revealed that he once advised Kourtney's sister Kim about starting "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," which brought the Kardashian family to the limelight.

Barker brought up an odd occurrence that he now thinks aided at the beginning of Kourtney's sister Kim and her family's reality program "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" about two decades ago. He revealed that at the height of his own family's reality show in the 2000s, Kim came to him seeking advice before her family signed their deal with E! Network for "KUWTK."

"I said, as long as you have nothing to hide with your family and you want to put it all out there, do it," Barker told Vanity Fair in a recent interview. "It's wild to think what it has become."

Truly, "KUWTK" surpassed all the expectations in viewer ratings that were set for it at its inception, ultimately running for 20 seasons and shooting the family to stardom alongside increasing their financial net worth.

The series' highly rated ratings propelled the showrunners to debut other spin-offs based on other family members. The list includes "Kourtney and Kim Take Miami," "Kourtney and Kim Take New York," "Khloé & Lamar," "Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons," "Dash Dolls," "Rob & Chyna," "Life of Kylie," and "Flip It Like Disick."

'The Kardashians'

Following the showrunners' choice to finish the protracted family saga series, the Kardashians announced on Instagram on September 8, 2020, that the show will end in 2021. The celebrity family then returned to television about a year later with "The Kardashians," a Hulu series that started on April 14, 2022, and has already shown four episodes.
