Things seem not to be looking so well for “Doctor Strange” actress Zara Phythian and her husband Victor Marke, who were both accused of sexual assault of a minor not too long ago.
The couple is pretty successful as professional martial artists and has been involved in a couple of projects in the entertainment industry.
Although Phythian and her spouse reportedly denied the sexual abuse allegations, the jurors were not so convinced as they unanimously ruled them guilty of the crimes.
Zara Phythian And Husband Get Convicted On Different Counts Of Sexual Crime
According to BBC, the movie star and her partner were convicted of child sex offenses on different counts at Nottingham Crown Court.
Phythian reportedly mentored and sexually assaulted the victim, an underaged female with Marke. On the other hand, Marke was also involved in a solo sexual onslaught of another minor.
The news outlet detailed the court trial, noting that the married pair met when Marke was the stuntwoman’s instructor, after which she progressed on to have a successful martial arts career.
Regarding the evidence presented at the hearing, Marke during his testimony confessed to having been sexually involved with one of the victims only once and claiming she was eighteen at the time.
The prosecutor, however, refuted the claims by stating that the offender had had multiple “threesomes” with the said victim when she was 13, while Phythian was involved as well.
Marke maintained that his wife was not entangled in any way, which the “Accident Man 2” actress corroborated when giving her evidence.
As for the guilty decree regarding the case, the Crown Prosecution Service, CPS’ Nicole Hepburn, stated that the allegedly guilty pair had been “exposed as the true liars.”
They were noted to have been dating when they assaulted the minor and later got hitched in 2015. It should be noted that Phythian was prosecuted using her married name Zara Marke.
The Couple Would Be Sentenced On May 16
The “Tribal Get Out Alive” star was convicted of fourteen counts of sexual activity with a child relative to a girl she and her spouse abused between 2005 and 2008, when the victim was aged 13, 14, and 15.
On the other hand, her husband was found guilty of two category counts. The first was four counts of offensively assaulting a minor regarding a 15-year-old female he abused between 2002 and 2003.
The second category was for similar counts to his wife’s crimes which he previously claimed she was not involved in.
The couple was said to have been on bail throughout the trial; however, Judge Mark Watson detained them after the guilty verdicts, saying he would pass judgment on May 16.
In Watson’s words, “Both of you know the sentence I pass on 16 May is likely to be measured by a considerable period of custody.”
Per The Blast, the accuser, who is now an adult, told Nottinghamshire Post, “I knew it was wrong, but I just didn’t know how to get out of the situation or say anything.”
She looked up to Phythian at the time and wanted to be like her in every way. She also claimed that her then-mentor tried to lighten the situation by asking her to play a game of “dare,” involving sexual activities.
When asked at the court hearing why she never reported the couple at the time of the incidents, she stated that recent issues triggered her into sharing her truth as she could not deal with keeping mute anymore.

The graphic facts of the couple’s sexual activities were revealed to the public during the trial. It showed that the pair reportedly took part in swinging sessions and often filmed themselves having sex.
After joining Marke’s martial arts academy in Nottingham, Pythian met the older man when she was 14. The taekwondo master was 37 at the time.
She began dating him officially when she was 19, which “caused a bit of stir” because of their age difference, but she denied the claims at the court trial about her being “infatuated.”
When she was 17, she became Marke’s “disciple” and accepted him as her “master” in a Shaolin Ceremony.
The “Dragon Kingdom” star also has a tattoo of her significant other’s name in Chinese ciphers, written above her vagina.
