Michelle Williams Talked About Motherhood

Speaking with Variety, Williams explained that she was over the moon about the imminent addition to her family, adding that becoming a mother again is "exciting."

"It's totally joyous. As the years go on, you sort of wonder what they might hold for you or not hold for you. It's exciting to discover that something you want, again and again, is available one more time. That good fortune is not lost on me or my family," the multiple award-winning Hollywood star told the news publication.

Williams also discussed the birth of Kail's first kid, who arrived during the pandemic, and how she felt during those times of uncertainty. "It was a reminder that life goes on. The world we brought a baby into is not the world we thought we were bringing a baby into, but the baby is ignorant of that. He experiences the unmitigated joy of discovery and the happiness of a loving home."

'It's The Ultimate Creative Act'

Williams further described the act of birthing and raising a child as an act with a greater purpose, further likening the process to the sort of talents seen on display on the big screen.

"There's nothing that makes you committed to a better world than raising a great kid. It's the ultimate creative act," the actress continued. "The most ecstatic moments of life and art are the transcendent ones. Having children is like that. You combine your DNA with someone else to create a new life."

The Hollywood star then revealed she was making moves to go on a hiatus from work during her pregnancy: "I wondered if I could work while I was pregnant, but I'm too tired."

Taking such a step would almost certainly need a lot of rescheduling on Williams' behalf. But given the significance of remaining stress-free for such a critical period in her life, Williams is sure to find a way to pull it off.

Baby Shopping

For her cover story with Variety, Williams was pictured donning a saint-like white furry gown, her cropped blonde hair, and little makeup as she cradled her baby bump and looked quite ready to welcome the child in the coming months.

During her last pregnancy, the actress was spotted buying baby clothes at Seraphine's maternity boutique in Kensington and would most likely follow the same pattern for her yet-to-be-born kid.

Regarding the exact delivery date, Williams made gave no hints about it, choosing to remain coy all through her piece with Variety. Additionally, the Hollywood star is not a fan of social media. Hence, getting any more details in the coming months about her child might be unlikely.

Williams has previously won a slew of awards, including two Golden Globes and a Primetime Emmy, as well as nominations for 4 Academy Awards, 3 BAFTA's, and a Tony nod for one of her Broadway projects.

Given her diverse acting abilities and Spielberg's distinct style, the filmmaker's forthcoming picture is expected to get several award nominations in the future. When everything is said and done, it won't be much of a surprise if Williams receives another award nomination to add to her long list of achievements.
