COVID- 19 new cases and hospitalizations have been recorded around the country, driven by highly infectious sub-variants of the virus, raising concerns about whether vaccination and previous viral protection would be enough to prevent yet another disastrous wave of sickness
Amy Schumer is the latest celebrity to have the virus, as she revealed on Saturday in an Instagram post that has since been removed. Despite having had close family members and acquaintances with the virus in the past, the former Oscar host is now suffering her first signs of the illness after remaining unaffected since the pandemic began in 2020.
Amy Schumer Joked About Her Covid Condition
Schumer has now joined a long list of celebrities who have spoken out about going down with Covid. The mother of two was forced to cancel her engagement at the Netflix is a Joke event on Saturday night before her revelation on social media, despite performing at the festival on Friday.
Being the comedian she is, Schumer mixed her announcement about contracting the virus with humor as she made an attempt to downplay the severity of the condition.
"I am sad to say I have to cancel my show in L.A. tonight. I am the first woman to ever get COVID," Schumer, 40, joked to her Instagram followers (via Yahoo Entertainment) "I tested positive for COVID-19 about an hour ago, so yeah, please, I don't know ... but at least my hair looks good."
The "Life & Beth" star is now in isolation recuperating from the illness and hopes to make a full recovery as soon as possible.
Amy Schumer Revealed That She Is Lonely And Bored From Isolating Alone
In her post on Instagram, the actress skid over commenting on the details of the symptoms she was experiencing currently. However, her facial demeanor looked quite under the weather, and she also appeared to be suffering from congestion or coughing.
Schumer would later jump on another Instagram video to joke about her Covid-affected voice, which she compared to infamous Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes.

"COVID has given me this incredible Elizabeth Holmes voice," she joked, referring to the main character of the Hulu show "The Dropout." "This is what I sound like now I have COVID."
After being forced to separate herself from her family upon testing positive for the virus, Schumer, who is married to Chris Fischer and has a 3-year-old son Gene, admitted to being "lonely and bored." On the bright side, she believes the time apart will be "wonderful" since "they won't comprehend it," hinting that her family would miss her as well.
Amy Schumer Ask For Movie Recommendations
Things turned more interesting in the comment section, as Schumer made a surprising request for movie choices from her followers. The comedian requested that her followers share their recommendations for things to watch during her leave, given that she now has plenty of time to catch up on old and new shows with her calendar no longer clogged up.
Fans were eager to give up some binge-worthy choices for the actress, as well as send their well-wishes and prayers. Schumer would undoubtedly spend the next several days mulling over these suggestions, which should help her cope with the loneliness and boredom she had previously expressed.
With Schumer's case, it's more apparent that everyone — vaccinated and unvaccinated, people who have had it before, and those who haven't — may contract COVID-19.
Amy Schumer Celebrates Mother's Day
Despite being in isolation, Schumer did not miss out on the chance to pay homage to mothers in the just concluded annual celebration. Across the years, she did this by delivering humor-filled clips, pictures, and writeups in appreciation of how hard mothers have it.

This time, she shared a photo of herself with three of her friends and colleagues, Janelle James, Amber Rose Tamblyn, and Ilana Glazer, who all have a similar connection as moms.
"Happy Mother's Day. This is what some bad ass moms look like!" she penned, and further tagged the women in question.
One fan responded, "Best part of my Mother's Day so far was "Life and Beth" season one. I hope all of you laughed and felt taken care of."
