Taylor Swift Hints '1989 (Taylor's Version)' Will Be The Next Re-Released Album

Singer Taylor Swift is about to be making headlines once again!

Late last year, she re-recorded two of her most popular albums: Fearless and Red, which included a ten-minute version of her beloved song“All Too Well,” as well as a short film. Fans can't wait to see what she has in store for her third re-recorded album.

Although there has been plenty of debate as to whether or not Speak Now or 1989 would be next, there are three specific clues that point to 1989 being the next album that's going to be released.

On Friday morning, many fans woke up to watch the lyrics video for “This Love (Taylor’s Version).” Fans gave the song an overwhelming thumbs-up of approval.

“Ever since Folklore Taylor's vocals have gotten so much matured and magical...” one fan commented. “Both Folklore and Evermore sound so magical and now re-recordings are giving chills to the deep core of my soul ...”

“The amazing thing about re-recordings like this is that you can experience a song like you're hearing it for the first time when at the same time you already know you love the song from the first note,” said another. “A whole new opportunity to appreciate the lyrics, her voice, the music. It's brilliant!”

However, fans might have forgotten that the “I Bet You Think About Me” singer already released another re-released song from 1989 late last year!

Seven months ago, on September 17, 2021, Swift released the official audio for “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version).” Fans were quick to point out the differences between the two versions of the song.

“The stolen feels angry, like ‘how dare you leave me?’ But this one feels like a fond memory of a love gone by like ‘it's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all’. Love it,” one fan commented.

“The old version sounds like a fantasy, and this version sounds like reminiscing of when that almost impossible dream finally became your reality,” another ventured.

So if those were the first two clues, what is the third clue?

Tayor Swift's official store contains exclusive merchandise that fans can't buy in stores. Some of these items include a 1989 hat ($35) or a 1989 Seagull Necklace ($30).

Although all of the 1989 merch may have fans hoping that it’s a sure sign that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is about to drop later this month, there is also a Speak Now necklace ($30) and other products that look back on Taylor Swift’s previous eras. However, it does seem that there is a lot more 1989 merch available for purchase, which could be another clue.

Many fans have been hoping that 1989 will be the next album that Swift will re-record. 1989 is Swift's fifth studio album, produced by Big Machine Records and released on October 27, 2014. The album was a massive success for Swift and sold over 1.287 million copies in its first week, as per Billboard.

1989 embraced showed Swift foregoing her country roots as she embraced the mainstream pop genre, producing several Billboard Hot 100 singles, including “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” and “Bad Blood.”

At the 58th Grammy Awards, 1989 won Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, which made Swift the first female solo artist to win Album of the Year twice. The album also won the American Music Award for Favorite Pop Album, the Billboard Music Awards for Billboard Top 200 Album, and the iHeart Radio Music Award for Album of the Year.
