Former "Jeopardy!" champion Amy Schneider made history in January when she became the contestant with the second-longest win streak of 40 games in a row in the "Jeopardy!" Hall of Fame.
In addition to her other accolades, she is also the first openly trans contestant to qualify for the Tournament of Champions and became the fifth millionaire in the game show's long history, the fourth to do so in regular gameplay.
On Sunday, Amy took to Instagram to reveal that she had been invited to the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday. This was the first event that the President himself attended in six years, since former President Donald Trump refused to attend and the event was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

Amy began her post by explaining that she and her fiancée, Genevieve Davis, “received the amazing gift of an invitation to the White House Correspondents Association dinner last night.”
“Thank you so much @washblade for allowing us to join you, and @glaad for facilitating it all!” she continued. “We had so much fun (honestly, I think I’m still a little star-struck by all the big names we saw!) and I truly appreciate the opportunity to attend.”
“Special thanks to @leannemarshallofficial for creating this absolutely stunning gown, @plcpeggy for the gorgeous custom jewelry, @britinythehairconcierge for hair and @hellooo.gorgeous for makeup,” she added. “And as always, an extra-special, over-the-top thank you to @stylewithden, who always goes above and beyond to make the glam happen!”
Many fans absolutely loved her new dark hair, which seemed to have a hint of auburn highlights.
“So lovely,” one fan commented. “STUNNING!!!!!” wrote another. “What a great color on you,” said a third with a few green heart emojis. “Truly a beautiful person inside and out,” another commented.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Amy has gotten up close and personal with staff at the White House. She was there last month giving a brief press conference, which aired on C-SPAN.
Amy Schneider 'Just Can't Help But Perform' At White House Press Conference
So, um, this happened. They did *not* tell me I would be asked questions, but put me on a stage and I just can’t help but perform lol https://t.co/1te0VLKkPz

At the end of March, Amy was pulled on stage to answer some questions about the recent wave of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation sweeping the nation. Over twenty-five different pieces of legislation are being proposed by Republican state governments that seek to restrict transgender children from obtaining gender-affirming healthcare. Many southern states, including Texas, Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee, have also implemented bans against transgender athletes.
In a brief interview with reporters, Amy said that this recent wave of conservative legislation is “really scary.”
“Some of them, in particular, are denying medical services to trans youth,” she said. “Those are life-saving medical treatments. These bills could cause the deaths of children, and that's really sad to me, and it's really frightening."
Amy said that she was “really honored to be here and really grateful that this was being celebrated, that the Trans people are being celebrated in a place like this.” Although she was admittedly concerned about the new legislation passing in various states, she summed up her speech with a hopeful message for trans youth.
“Hang in there,” she said. “I think that this backlash right now is temporary. I think that the country overall is on our side, and getting more so every day, and I think it's not going to be too long until these sorts of bills are seen as a thing of the past.”
The full three-minute video was shared by CSPAN on Twitter and can be watched above. “So, um, this happened. They did *not* tell me I would be asked questions, but put me on a stage and I just can’t help but perform lol,” Amy wrote in the caption.
She added a note about her hair in the comments. “Note about my hair: it was very windy today in DC. Also my hair is just like that lol.”
