Ray J, Kim Kardashian‘s ex-boyfriend, finally commented on the sweet revelation the 41-year-old star made on her reality show, The Kardashians. The two were dating in 2003 and made a sex tape that went viral four years after in 2007.
In a clip, Kardashian teared up as she revealed to her family and fans that her ex-husband, Kanye West, had retrieved the remaining part of the sex tape from Ray J. They allegedly met at an airport in L.A and West took the tape all the way to New York to give Kardashian.
This was a big deal for her since several rumors concerning the unreleased part of the tape were going around.

Kim Kardashian Was Proud Of The ‘Retrieval’
The reality star gave fans more info on how she got the remaining part of the tape on The Kardashians’ most recent episode. She noted that West collected the computer, which contained the hard drive with the extra footage from Ray J.

She expressed how proud she was of West for his kind gesture and how much it meant to her. She also explained that he was protecting their children from more drama relating to the sex tape.
“I know Kanye did this for me, but he also did this for my kids,” Kardashian said. “I wanna shield them from as much as I can. And if I had the power to or if Kanye has the power to, like, that is just the most important thing to me,” she continued. She also added, “I’m so emotional because of it. It just means a lot to me.”
Shortly after this, her mom, Kris Jenner, commented on West’s kindness and said, “Thank you for Kanye and for the unbelievable way he does things, and the ability to get something done.” She also mentioned that the footage probably cost “a big fat huge check” to retrieve, but West denied it and said, “Oh, definitely not, no check. We not getting extorted ever again.”
Kanye West Already Spoke On The Retrieval The Sex Tape Footage
The alleged event happened last year, sometime before Kardashian appeared on and hosted “Saturday Night Live.” She was also on the show with her now-boyfriend, Pete Davidson.
While Kim revealed the news of the footage on her reality show, Kanye talked about it earlier in an interview with Hollywood Unlocked. He noted that he had retrieved the remaining part of the tape for Kardashian. Fans believed that he made the confession because he didn’t like her new relationship with Davidson.
He confirmed this during the interview as he said, “How you gonna bring me to ‘SNL’ and kiss the dude you dating right in front of me?” He continued, “And everybody’s like, ‘Oh, that’s, that’s cool.’ After I went [and] got the laptop from Ray J myself that night, right?”
The Kardashian & Ray J Video Allegedly Had ‘Nothing Sexual’ On It
After going through the clip, Kardashian confirmed that it contained nothing explicit or sexual. “It was just footage of us at a restaurant, at a nightclub [and there was] nothing sexual. Nothing weird,” the star said.
She also mentioned how relieved she was that the drama was finally over. “So now I can take a deep breath and not worry about this right before SNL, right before the bar, and right before everything,” she said.
Earlier in September 2021, Kardashian’s lawyer, Marty Singer, told fans that the rumors of an unreleased sex tape were fake. In an interview with Us Weekly, the attorney said “It is unfortunate that people make these statements to try and get their 15 minutes of fame.”
West also alleged that he decided to meet with Ray J to retrieve the extra footage as soon as the rumors made headlines.
Ray J Slammed The Video As ‘A Lie’
While Kardashian celebrated how touched she was by West’s alleged act of kindness, Ray J felt differently about the news. The 41-year-old commented under a clip of the happy moment shared on Instagram by Hollywood Unlocked.
This was after the third episode of The Kardashians aired earlier that Thursday, April 28th. He accused Kardashian and her ex-husband of lying about the event. “All of this is a lie smh – Can’t let them do this anymore – so untrue,” the rapper wrote.
During the episode, Kardashian opened up a suitcase in front of Kris Jenner and her sister, Khloé Kardashian in her room. She said, “I want to show you guys what [West] got me,” then continued, “He got me all of the sex tape back. And he got the computer it was on and the hard drive. He met with Ray J at the airport, and he got it all back for me.”
