Celebrity breakups are usually a big deal and sometimes devastating for fans of involved parties.

While most breakups are usually loud, some are typically hush-hush. Chrishell Stause and Justin Hartley were one of those couples. The pair started dating in 2013, got married four years after, and stayed away from the spotlight until the announcement of their divorce.

Since then, they've been all over tabloids, and between getting romantically involved with other people and invariably marrying them, it'd appear that both parties have moved on.

Chrishell Stause Says She 'Pushed Through'

During her appearance on the podcast, Stause opened up about how she felt filming her hit show amidst her divorce from the "This Is Us" actor.

"That was obviously very humiliating and the fact that I still had to film a reality show, it was either that or quit," she said during the recent episode of the podcast via E!News. "But all of a sudden, I just lost everything, and I didn't want to lose the one thing that I worked really hard to have, which was my job and a new career, and so I pushed through."

She added that her decision to push through had a positive domino effect.

"That show coming out—people then connecting with me in the middle of a pandemic and sharing their stories with me—has completely changed my mindset of being open about things versus not," the 40-year-old explained. I think transparency is so much better than trying to pretend your life is perfect."

Stause Had Previously Opened Up About The Effect Of The Spilt

This, however, isn't the first time the actress was discussing the impact the split had on her. Earlier this month, she revealed on the "Kelly Clarkson" show that she sold her wedding band to pay for her dream home.

"I will say when sometimes life gives you lemons, sometimes you gotta add a little vodka. I was trying to, you know, make the best out of a situation."

She also mentioned that she had since moved on from her ex-husband, claiming that she had no "anger" in her. Her sisters also never seemed to like Hartley; they seemingly implied that he was never the one for her.

More specifically, Shonda Stause, Chrishell's sister, admitted that Hartley didn't take her sister seriously, claiming that he sometimes downplayed her job.

"A lot of your jobs, he acted like they were not real jobs. And this was your life. This was your job. You worked so hard for it."

Her second sister, Sabrina Stause, added that Hartley was very disrespectful, and her sister had to pretend to be who she wasn't for his sake.

"It was just so sad that you felt like you had to kind of pretend to be something else."

Why Did The Pair Break Up?

According to Us Weekly, Hartley filed for divorce from Stause after two years of tying the nuptial knot.

Although he cited irreconcilable differences, the divorce surprised Stause, who shared details about this on the third season of "Selling Sunset."

"I'm just kind of in shock with it all," she revealed during the third season of "Selling Sunset." "It's just a lot all at once because everybody in the whole world knows. I love him so much. This was my best friend. Who do I talk to now?"

It also came as a surprise to many people. The pair were struggling, but it wasn't up to the extent of splitting from each other.

"Justin had been having problems with the marriage for a while," an insider told Us Weekly. Still, the insider added, "the divorce filing was a big surprise to everyone around Justin and Chrishell in terms of their friends."

Chrishell Stause Is Now Completely Single

On the podcast, Stause disclosed her relationship status and stated that she wasn't seeing anyone.

She added that although she was content with where she was now, she was still keeping an open mind.

"I'm not thinking about it too much. I have entered into a new era of my life now where I am so content."
