Actress Thandiwe Newton has no time to spare in moving on with her life. The star, who is reportedly separated from her longtime husband, English writer, director, and producer Ol Parker, already seems to have a new beau. The couple married in 1998 and have three children: Ripley, Nico, and Booker Jombe.
Photographs of Newton and Parker attending functions without their wedding rings added fuel to the divorce rumors. But if there was any doubt about how much the couple’s relationship had deteriorated, the actress’ recent PDA with a new partner, Los Angeles musician Elijah Dias, answers most questions that might have sprung in the heart of fans.
Read below for more details.
Thandiwe Newton Was Seen Kissing Elijah Dias During A Recent Outing
The “Westworld” actor and Dias (a.k.a. Lonr.) were spotted out and about, dressed casually. Newton wore green slacks and a patterned top with round-framed sunglasses, a cap, and sneakers. Meanwhile, the “Safe Zone” singer wore black sweatshirt and garnet sweatpants, as well as an orange crossbody tote.
According to reports, Newton and Dias went to at least six neighborhood stores before stopping to have a snack. The couple also found time to have a heated lovey-dovey session amidst filling their bellies. Notably, the actress did not wear a wedding ring during her PDA-filled date with Dias, and neither did her husband wear one when he was pictured near his house in London on April 19.
Even though it appears that things have gone awry in her marriage, Newton has failed to publicly say if she has formally divorced Parker. However, based on the fresh photos that have surfaced, news of her divorce should be on the way soon.
Newton’s New Beau Said The Actress Cares About Her Children
Before the adorable photographs of Newton and Diaz surfaced in the public, Newton had a strong association with the Los Angeles artiste, whose work with singer H.E.R has won numerous award nominations.
At 23, Dias, a Massachusetts native, is just two years older than Ripley, Newton’s eldest sister. This little age gap, however, does not appear to be a concern for him or Newton, as he recently claimed that their relationship will not damage her bond with her children.
“From the relatively short time I’ve been fortunate to spend with her, I know Thandiwe and Oliver care deeply about the welfare of their children,” Diaz recently opined as per Page Six. “That’s all I care about right now.”
The Actress Recently Drooped Out Of “Magic Mike’s Last Dance”
Newton also left “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” earlier this month owing to personal family issues and amid speculations of a brawl with co-star Channing Tatum. However, movie representatives have denied the claim that there was any quarrel between the actress.
Apparently, Newton’s “emotional and familial troubles” appear to have taken a toll on the actress, affecting her work productivity, and prompting her premature departure from the project to which she had already devoted considerable time.
After her departure, the showrunners quickly moved to replace Newton with Salma Hayek, who was spotted on set in London holding a script and looking all gingered up to deliver the role of her predecessor.
Thandiwe Newton Portrayed Celia Harrison In ‘All The Old Knives’
Newton appeared in a new spy thriller film, “All The Old Knives,” before departing the cast of “Magic Mike’s Last Dance.” The film, directed by Janus Pedersen, was based on Olen Steinhauer’s 2015 novel of the same name and included the 51-year-old as the screenwriter.
Newton played Cecelia Harrison in “All The Old Knives,” a former CIA employee who worked at the Vienna site during a terrorist kidnapping of a flight, which ultimately ended in tragedy. Newton is compelled to discover what went wrong after the hijacking case is reopened, as well as defend herself from forces who do not want her to know the truth.
Laurence Fishburne, Jonathan Pryce, Corey Johnson, Chris Pine, and Ahd Kamel round out the cast. The film was released in select theaters and streamed on Amazon Prime Video on April 8, 2022.
