Monday, April 25 – Mattea Returns

On Monday, Mattea returned to defend her 14-day total of $320,081 dollars against Michael, a mascot, and Jesse, a mental health therapist.

The first round featured the categories: PICTURE THE SONG // SAME FIRST & LAST LETTER // THE MEXICAN-AMERICAN WAR // OUT IN THE OCEAN // MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS // LET'S PLAY OLD-TIME PRIVATE EYE

After the first round, Mattea had $6,400, Jessie had $7,000, and Michael had $600 dollars.

The Double Jeopardy! round featured the categories: BOOKS & AUTHORS // WHO PLAYED 'EM // MULTIPLE HYPHENS // MANE-SPLAINING // I'LL FOLLOW YOU // TO THE 'N'S OF THE EARTH

Going into the Final Jeopardy! round, Mattea had $27,200, Jessie had $10,200, and Michael had $5,000 dollars.

The Final Jeopardy! category was "Names In American History." The clue read: "Capable of freighting about 180 tons of cargo, in 1624 it was in disrepair & appraised at a total value of 128 pounds."

Both Jessie and Mattea came up with a correct answer of "What is the Mayflower?" She added $5,500 dollars for a winning total of $32,700 dollars and a 15-day total of $352,781 dollars.

Tuesday, April 26 -  Mattea Returns

On Tuesday, Mattea returned to defend her 15-day total of $352,781 dollars against Reya, a cultural strategist and performer, and Nicky, a debate instructor.

The first round featured the categories: GENERAL KNOWLEDGE // THE MIDDLE AGES // I LEARNED IT IN THE COMIC BOOKS // ITALIAN CUISINE // LET'S TALK SCIENCE // MINI "ME"

At the end of the first round, Mattea had $8,000, Reya had $3,800, and Nicky had -$400 dollars.

The Double Jeopardy! round featured the categories: COLONEL KNOWLEDGE // TV SHOWS BY SETTINGS // ON THE MEDITERRANEAN // ONE BIG FAMILY // 1870'S LIT // ____, ____, & ____ (aka "THREE BLANKS")

Going into the Final Jeopardy! round, Mattea had $23,200 and Reya had $5,000 dollars. Nicky had -$800 dollars, and would not be sticking around for the Final Jeopardy! round.

The Final Jeopardy! category was "African Surnames." The clue read: "Adetokunbo, 'The Crown has Returned from overseas,' is fitting for the Adetokunbo family who left Nigeria for this country in 1991."

Only Reya came up with a correct answer of "What is Greece?" Although she added $4,900 dollars to her score, Mattea only wagered $7,000 to add $16,200 dollars to her 16-day total of $368,981 dollars.

Wednesday, April 27 - Mattea Returns

On Wednesday, Mattea returned to defend her 16-day total of $368,981 dollars against Christina, an elementary school music teacher, and Ben, a research and development engineer.

The first round featured the categories: A NOVEL LOOK AT THE NOVEL — FINISH THE OLD PROVERB — THE LEAGUE MVP'S TEAM — GETTING A "BA" IN BOTANY — WHICH COMES FIRST — THE CHICKEN OR THE EGG

At the end of the first round, Mattea had $6,000, Christina had $4,000, and Ben had $2,400 dollars.

The Double Jeopardy! round featured the categories: ARCHITECTS — MOUNTAINS & HILLS — MISCELLANY — CELEBRITY MEMOIRS — THE ANCIENT WORLD — AN ANATOMY OF WORDS

Going into the Final Jeopardy! round, Mattea had $27,200, Ben had $13,600, and Christina had $8,400 dollars.

The Final Jeopardy! category was "Poets." The clue read: "In 1939, he was buried near his last residence in France, but his body arrived in Galway en route to final burial on September 17, 1948."

Both Ben and Mattea provided a correct answer of "Who is Yeats?" Ben bet everything and doubled his score to $27,200 dollars to tie Mattea. Mattea only bet a dollar and added $27,201 dollars to create a 17-day total of $396,182 dollars.

Thursday, April 28 -  Mattea Returns

On Thursday, Mattea returned to defend her 17-day total of $396,182 dollars against Manav, an undergraduate student, and Renée, a branch office administrator.

The first round featured the categories: OLD YORK // MOVIES"!" // POETS & POETRY // IRON // LANDMARKS // RHYMES WITH THESE

After the first round, Mattea had $9,800, Renée had $5,200, and Manav had $3,000 dollars.

The Double Jeopardy! round featured the categories: PHILOSOPHY // CELEBRITY SIBLING SURNAMES // DOUBLE DOUBLE-LETTER WORDS // NORTH AMERICA // CATCHING YOU SHORT // BALLET & OPERA

Going into the Final Jeopardy! round, Mattea had $22,600, Renée had $21,000, and Manav had $600 dollars.

The Final Jeopardy! category was "Books of the 1970s." The clue read: "Aptly, members of a Black family in this novel have Biblical names: Pilate, Hagar & the title one, an ancestor of the protagonist."

Only Mattea provided a correct answer of "What is 'Song Of Solomon'?" She added $19,401 dollars to win $42,001 for an 18-day total of $438,183 dollars.

Friday, April 29 - Mattea Returns

On Friday, Mattea returned to defend her 18-day total of $438,183 dollars against Terri, an associate director of admissions, and Julian, an animator.

The first round featured the categories: STATES' MOST POPULOUS CITIES // SITCOMS // NEWSPAPERS & MAGAZINES // THE LANGUAGE OF SPORT // THE ATMOSPHERE // WAITS & MEASURES

At the end of the first round, Mattea had $3,400, Julian had $4,200, and Terri had  $1,200 dollars.

The Double Jeopardy! round featured the categories: POLITICIANS IN THEIR SCHOOL DAYS // ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS // FUN WITH COOKING TERMS // THE 18th CENTURY // FELINES IN FICTION // MIDDLE P

Going into the Final Jeopardy! round, Mattea had $17,000, Julian had $11,000, and Terri had $800 dollars.

The Final Jeopardy! category was "Musical Inspirations." The clue read: "'Tuileries' & 'The Great Gate of Kiev' were 2 of the artworks that inspired this classical work completed in 1874."

Only Mattea provided a correct answer of "What is 'Pictures at an Exhibition'?" Mattea added $5,001 to win $22,001 and create a 19-day total of $460,184 dollars.

But would she be able to keep her win streak going on Monday? Fans will just have to tune in to find out!
