Jensen Ackles Shares More Details About Jared Padalecki's Car Accident

On Sunday, Jared Padalecki started trending on Twitter as many fans expressed concern for his health.

On Thursday, April 21, Padalecki tweeted that he was going to be missing at Creation Entertainment’s Supernatural Official Conventions the past weekend. “Hey #SpnFamily! Sorry to miss y’all in NYC this weekend,” he wrote. “Thank you and the #WalkerFamily for all the love and support. Can’t wait to see y’all again. 🙏❤️”

His “Supernatural” costar Jensen Ackles took the stage alone in East Brunswick and told the crowd that he had Jared’s permission to explain why he was missing from the fan convention.

US Magazine obtained footage from the convention along with Jensen’s remarks about Jared’s health.

“I miss my buddy,” Jensen told the cheering crowd, adding that Jared “sends his love. I spoke with him yesterday. He’s sad he can’t be here.”

“He was in a very bad car accident,” Jensen explained. “He wasn’t driving. He was in the passenger seat, and he’s lucky to be alive.” Fortunately, the “Boys” actor told the audience that no one had lost their life in the crash.

“He’s at home recovering, which — the fact that he’s not even in the hospital right now is, like, blowing my mind because I saw the car,” he added.

Apparently, it was the airbags that left Jared “exhausted” more than anything else.

“That airbag packs a punch,” Jensen explained. “He’s like, ‘I feel like I went 12 rounds with Tyson.’ But he is doing OK, and he’s moving around. But yeah, [it was a] really, really bad car accident. Just keep him in your thoughts, send him some love if you get a chance on social and he’ll be back with us soon.”

Jared is married to “Supernatural” costar Genevieve Padalecki (née Genevieve Cortese) who played the demon Ruby on the early seasons of the CW series, which ran from 2005 to 2020. Together, the couple has three children: Thomas, 10, Shep, 8, and Odette, 5.

Many fans took to social media to send their well-wishes to both Jared and his family as they hoped for a speedy recovery.

One user tweeted, "Jared is recovering from a bad car accident and still thinks of his fans at a convention, sending them autographed pictures. I hope Jared knows how grateful we are for him. ❤️"
