Jesse Williams and Sarah Drew will reportedly be on the season 18 finale of the ABC medical drama series "Grey's Anatomy." The two will reprise their roles as love interests, Dr. Jackson Avery and Dr. April Kepner, in the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

After 10 seasons as a series regular, Williams left the series because he wanted to explore different acting roles and get out of his "comfort zone." Drew was let go along with some other members of the cast. The show producers revealed that the cuts were purely creative decisions on the part of the writers.

She said, "I'll never say never because they are my family. I still love everyone over there. I love that community, and I still have such an incredible space in my heart for everyone over there." Drew also shed some light on how she parted ways with her long-time character April.

The actress continued, "But I really do feel like, because of how it went down, I really had to part ways with April; I just had to. There was no way for me to live in a space of possibility of her returning and also be healthy in my letting go of all of it, so I really have said goodbye to her."

Her departure from the ABC drama caused a huge uproar. Several people speculated that her and Capshaw's cuts were done to make up for the lead character, Ellen Pompeo's $20 million salary. A rumor that the actor vehemently denied. Show creator Shonda Rhimes and executive producer Krista Vernoff revealed that the choice was strictly a creative decision, not compensation.

Drew confessed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that she wasn't exactly happy about the cut but felt it was for the best. She said, "I was told that the show had too many characters and that they needed to downsize because they couldn't service all of the characters effectively. They didn't want any of us to be left in the background and not getting much of a story."
