Many "Jeopardy!" fans dream of being on the show.

To appear on the show, potential contestants must first take the Anytime Test available on their official website. If they perform well, they are invited to take yet another test over Zoom. If they perform well on the second test, they are invited to perform in a mock game and complete an interview before scoring an official invitation to appear on the show.

However, appearing on the show can be expensive, especially for those in Canada or the East Coast. The cost of hotel rooms and flights to Los Angeles, as well as transportation once there, quickly add up, and the third-place total of $1,000 dollars (or even the second-place total of $2,000) might not be enough for contestants to recoup their loss of appearing on the show.

Although some feel that appearing on the show is a priceless opportunity, others are just content to play along at home. "Jeopardy!" asked potential candidates or at-home fans to weigh in with what their potential "Jeopardy!" interview would be.

Although some users shared some interesting stories, some wished that the contestant interviews halfway through the first round would go away!

One user asked, "Are the anecdotes really necessary? They are so painfully awkward to watch and take up too much time."

"It gives the contestants a chance to be themselves," another replied. "It’s their fifteen minutes of fame. Let them have their fun." However, not everyone seemed so sure.

"Are we sure this is really fun for the contestants?" another asked. "Seems pretty forced to me."
