Michael Sheen And Kate Beckinsale’s Daughter Lily Was Interested In Acting From A Young Age

PEOPLE shared that "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent" was Lily’s first prominent movie role, and it will be out in theaters by the weekend.

She acted as Addy, the daughter of Nick Cage, who struggled to bond with her as he searched for his next major endeavor. Nick Cage was a fictional version of the actor Nicholas Cage.

As the daughter of movie icons, Lily shared her experiences growing up, which differed from her life as the child of a movie star in "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent." She elaborated:

"Of course, there are definitely similarities, obviously. But I think what really opened the character up for me, as an actor, was to start noting the differences. Seeing what would my life be like if my parents hadn’t been as loving and supportive of me and of the person that I wanted to be."

Her role in the film was fascinating as she saw the "alternate version" of herself and what her life could have been like if things were different.

Lily loves and adores her parents as they are the supportive type who would have accepted whatever career she chose.

While growing up, the 23-year-old was pretty stubborn and “wanted to shirk the expectation” that she could end up acting. Despite that, she always wanted to act from a young age, and it took her "a second to get there."

She joked that her mom, with whom she had a pretty tight relationship, would have preferred if she became a surgeon. However, she knew Beckinsale would not also want her to be involved in any surgeries.

As a stubborn kid growing up, she mostly ignored her parents’ advice, but now, she has learned to cherish and favor their contributions.

"When I was younger and more immature, I was more like, 'I don’t want any help.' But I think I've now grown to really appreciate how much of a lucky opportunity I've had, in having those parents, and just to have a helping hand through the industry," Lily confessed.

Her parents, who respected arts, were also great about pushing her out and letting her fly so she could be the actor she wanted to be.

"Happy 21st birthday, you amazing fairy person. I love you, my Lily, and your smaller than the rain hands. Happy birthday, funniest, best, most brilliant angel face [red heart emoji] ps please feel free to finally try a sip of alcohol for the first time."

At the time, Lily was a college student at UCLA, according to the outlet, where she was studying to be an orthodontist.

Michael had a complicated split from Beckinsale as they had just settled in the US with their child when his work visa forced him to return to Britain while the actress remained in the States with Lily.

Daily Mail reported that the Olivier Award nominee revealed on the podcast "Changes With Annie Macmanus" that he was not sure if he would be allowed to return to the US as he had no work visa to remain in the country.

He and the 48-year-old movie star met in 1995 on the touring production of "The Seagull," and despite their eventual breakup, they remained close friends.

Beckinsale once stated that she loved the actor even after years of being apart; plus, they made each other "roar with laughter."
