'RHOP' Ashley Darby Splits From Husband After Years Of Infidelity Rumors

Real Housewives of Potomac alum Ashley Darby has ended things with her husband Micheal Darby after almost 8 years of marriage. The reality star confirmed the split on her Instagram account. 

Darby shared a photo of a headline referring to her split from her husband and captioned it,  “It’s been almost 8 magical years. Please check out bravotv.com.”

The statement, shared exclusively with bravotv.com “Almost eight years ago, when Michael and I said ‘I do,’ we anticipated sharing every single day together from that moment forward. Unfortunately, that is not our current reality. We have decided to separate,” she wrote.

Ashley went on to point out that they know there is going to be a lot of speculation surrounding the split. “There will be many speculative views as to why we have made this decision. People will be quick to assume that the causes were too much intrusion by reality TV into the most personal parts of our lives, age gap issues, cultural problems, or child-rearing differences.”

While Ashley admits that many of the things she listed could have played a role in the breakup she isn’t solely blaming it on those elements alone. “We are now both at very different stages in our lives and have different goals for our futures. We both want the other to achieve true happiness and fulfillment and feel that we cannot do this together.”

Ashley’s split comes on the heels of yet another tumultuous season of infidelity rumors in her marriage. In the sixth season of RHOP Micheal was called out after being photographed at a bar allegedly chatting up a woman who wasn’t his wife. 

At the time Ashley had just given birth and was on a girl's trip with the rest of the cast. There was an awkward silence when the news was broken to her especially because she was so hesitant to leave in the first place.

The Australian-born businessman has spent most of his time on the show fighting off cheating allegations. He was accused of being overheard saying her wanted to give fellatio to fellow cast member Robyn Dixon’s Husband Juan Dixon. 

He was later accused and had charges brought against him (later dismissed) for assault on a crew member while filming an earlier season. It’s safe to say since Ashley’s sophomore season on the popular franchise there has been one allegation or another against her husband.

The 33-year-old continued making excuses for her relationship in the lengthy press release. “While our romantic bond is broken, we will always love and respect each other. We also know that true happiness can only be achieved by continuing to work together and putting our hearts and souls into raising our two beautiful boys, Dean and Dylan.”

The yogi’s relationship has been called into question quite a bit by fellow housewives. The mom of two shared that she and Micheal have had some NSFW fun behind closed doors involving one other person a handful of times.

In the sixth season, fans got to watch Ashley become a mom of two and begin to question if Michael actually is her forever person. While she insisted she was as happy as can be, Giselle Bryant, Dixon, and the Grande Dame herself, Karen Huger all expressed concern for the rocky status of the relationship. 

In an all too familiar move, the Darbys have made sure to stress that they are fully focused on their children Dean, 2, and Dylan, 1, and there are absolutely no hard feelings.

“They will always feel loved and supported, for they were truly created out of love. As this is a personal matter for us, we appreciate everyone who has been a part of our journey and ask for your continued support by respecting us as we go through this emotional situation.”
