Jaden Smith believes he is an old soul who is wise beyond his years, and he’s sticking to that thought!
The son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith recently came under fire on social media for making comments about how kids don’t know how to talk about important worldly matters.
More specifically, he was complaining about how kids his age growing up didn’t worry about the economic and political state of the world.
Jaden Smith Has A Bone To Pick With Gen-Z
Earlier this month, he spoke to “BigBoyTV” and explained that he preferred hanging with adults over people his own age.
“I am very happy that I spent my childhood with more adults than I did with kids my own age, because I was picking up more things from adults than I was from kids my own age,” Jaden said.

He continued to impersonate a person his age and said, “Look at my phone! Selfie.”
Jaden said, “I’m just, like, ‘Dude, like, oh my God. Can we talk about the political and economic state of the world, right now?' Can we talk about what’s going on in the environment? Can we talk about other things?”
This created a wildfire of backlash on social media.
Jaden Smith Stirs Up The Twittersphere
One person responded with screenshots from Travis Scott’s apology video from Astroworld and wrote, “Jaden Smith at the age of 12 when he got a Wii instead of the declaration of independence.”

Jaden definitely got wind of the meme storm he inspired and decided to respond with a meme of his own.
On Monday, April 18, Jaden posted a picture of himself looking stoic and a bit annoyed. He wrote, “Me: Hey Wanna Talk About The Economic And Political State Of World Together,’ Girl: ‘Nah’ Me: ‘Ok Cool.’”
Jaden Responds To Online Trolls
Despite some naysayers on social media, many of his fans were happy he brought up the topic of the political and economic state of the world.
One fan responded to his tweet, “So true, I wish more people were like us.”
“I would love to talk about the economic and political state of the world together. And then we can kiss,” one overzealous fan w rote.
Jaden’s comments come after he seemingly supported his dad, Will, for slapping Chris Rock in the face at the Oscars.
On March 27, Rock had cracked a joke about Jada‘s baldness, likening her to GI Jane. Jada rolled her eyes and Smith strode up to “smack the s**t out of” Rock.
The Academy was not impressed and let Smith know, sending him a disciplinary hearing notice. While Smith had apologized to the Academy at the event itself and later issued a social media apology to the “Grown Ups” star, his behavior was still seen as demeaning.
Smith finally resigned and issued a formal statement.
The statement read: “My actions at the 94th Academy Awards presentation were shocking, painful, and inexcusable. The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home. I betrayed the trust of the Academy. I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work. I am heartbroken.”
He further stated, “So, I am resigning from membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and will accept any further consequences the Board deems appropriate. Change takes time and I am committed to doing the work to ensure that I never again allow violence to overtake reason.”
Following the slap, Jaden tweeted out, “And That’s How We Do It.”
