By Rima Pundir on April 18, 2022 at 12:30 PM EDT
Anitta has finally made it to the big stage, debuting at Coachella as the first-ever solo artist from her country, Brazil to do so. It has been quite a journey for the Brazilian singer, from the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro to the international Coachella stage and she is grateful for the opportunity.
She wowed the audience with special performances from artists like Snoop Dogg, Saweetie, and Diplo, and an absolutely wild and sexy set that involved a lot of booty shaking.

Anitta has been long loved as a Latin American singer, but as Coachella, it's clear, she's making a mark and a move in the US and her sexy performance got her a big thumbs up from all.
The curtains opened on a stage built to resemble Brazilian favelas, the slums that Anitta was raised in as a youngster. There was a pool table with Snoop Dogg hanging out and smoking a joint. He introduced Anitta to the Coachella audience and let the singer and her troop enthrall the crowd.

The 45-minute set moved fluidly between genres as easily as Anitta moved between costumes. She started with Brazilian and Latin music which made her a star but also added pop. Her Ryan Tedder-helmed hit “Faking Love,” featured a brief but powerful cameo from Saweetie before she moved on to rock, with the pop-punk “Boys Don’t Cry". Finally, it was hip-hop from "Versions of Me” and a Diplo-helmed dance-for-all finished the final set to rousing applause.
Anitta Is Thankful For It All
Anitta's performance may have smitten Coachella, but she remains grounded as she thanked everyone on Instagram a day after her performance. Wrote the 29-year-old-singer, who was christened Larissa de Macedo Machado at birth, "Hi, world, welcome to Brazil. This is my country. Just wanna say many many many thanks."

Anitta also seemed to be blown away by how Coachella treated them all, continuing to write, "Thanks @coachella for treating me and my team and all the artists equally with so much respect and support no matter who they are or how big they are. Nothing I say here can describe properly what happened in so many lives yesterday in so many different aspects."
She also has another message for her fans: "Still can't get over myselfffffff... ahhhh. If you missed it, u not completely f---ed cuz we doing it again next friday. Coachella Stage 6pm"

Anitta Made Snoop Dogg Twerk
Anitta made another first, by making Snoop Dogg join in her twerking, although his attempt did not last too long. The show started with Anitta rolling up on a motorcycle to join Snoop, with whom she has been friends, since releasing their song "Onda Diferente" in 2019.

Anitta also showed how proud she was of her country by dressing in the colors of the Brazilian flag. For her very first look, she wore green, yellow, and blue two-piece set with yellow boots and sunglasses and later slipped into a similar colored bodysuit with plenty of gold in it.

It's also interesting to note that Anitta's Coachella performance comes just days after the release of her new album "Versions of Me." The album includes "Faking Love" with Saweetie, and more songs with artists like Khalid, Myke Towers, Ty Dolla $ign, and the late Brazilian DJ Mr. Catra.
