The 2022 Coachella has officially begun with headliner Harry Styles kicking off the show with a fantastic performance. He also invited music icon Shania Twain on stage as a surprise guest to perform two of her highly popular crossover hits. Styles also revealed some of the lessons Twain taught him as a child and singer.
The "Adore You" singer is one of the three headliners for this year's Coachella and dazzled his fans and audience with his sequined outfits, intoxicating energy, and two new songs from his soon-to-be-released album. Read on to find out more about his performance.
Shania Twain And Harry Styles Performed Two Of Her Hit Songs
After performing several of his songs, Styles brought Twain onto the stage, and she kicked off by performing a lively version of her song, "Man! I Feel Like a Woman," which Styles sang along to as backup vocals. They then had a sit-down duet performance of another of her songs, "You're Still the One."
Before they performed the second song, Styles told Twain that he was highly thankful to her because she taught him "how to sing" and gave him special memories with his mom. He said, "In the car with my mother as a child, this lady taught me how to sing. She also taught me that men are trash."
He also told the country music star, "I will be forever grateful. This is very special for me. Thank you so much." In response, Twain said Styles and his statements made her feel "a bit starstruck" and added, "It's kind of a dream, and very surreal, to be sitting here right now singing this song with you. I think I'm just in love."

Twain also later posted a photo of her, Styles, and their band with the caption, "Music icon. Fashion icon and true friend. I am honored and thrilled to have joined @harrystyles onstage for his @coachella debut. What a magical moment!! And I mean c'mon... WHAT A SHOW I'm a huge fan! Grateful we got to create this memory together - Thank you, Harry.
Styles Previewed Two Tracks From His New Album
To make his first-ever Coachella performance even more memorable, Styles previewed two songs from his upcoming album, "Harry's House," and then ended the set with his debut solo hit single, "Sign of the Times."
Styles premiered the two songs, "Boyfriends" and "Late Night Talking, "wearing a very shiny, disco ball-inspired jumpsuit." As he announced the performance for "Boyfriends," he said, "To boyfriends everywhere, fuck you."
The crowd immediately went crazy, and it was immediately obvious that they loved the new song. The "Watermelon Sugar" singer also premiered "Late Night Talking" after Twain's set, and the song was more of a dance floor pop song, which his fans immediately loved.
Fans Went Crazy Over The New Songs
Aside from the thousands of people at the Coachella event in person, millions more worldwide streamed the show and Styles' performance. They immediately went wild on Twitter and Instagram when Styles performed the first of his new songs.
Some of the tweets about it read, "did this really happen. Did harry styles actually sing a new song called BOYFRIEND, or are we dreaming," "I think i forgot to breathe since the first notif of harry is now performing with a new song," and "HARRY PERFORMED A NEW SONG CALLED 'BOYFRIENDS' LIVE I AM NOT FINE."
Many more fans expressed their disappointment and jealousy that they weren't able to hear the performance of his new songs live, while many reviewed "Boyfriends" and said they really liked it. His performance really ramped up the anticipation for Styles' new album.
'Harry's House' Premieres On May 20th
Styles announced the release of his new album through an Instagram post which he captioned, "Harry's House May 20th." In the accompanying photo, Styles stands casually on the ceiling of an upside-down living room beside some furniture, with a pensive look on his face.
According to a press release by Columbia Records, the upcoming album has 13 tracks, which is great because it is one more than "Fine Line," which had 12 tracks, and two more than "Harry Styles," which had ten tracks. Styles is yet to release the track titled, but fans now know three of the songs in the album.
The first two, "Boyfriend" and "Late Night Talking," were revealed at his Coachella performance, but the third, "As It Was," was released on April 1st and even had a video. Fans love the song, and if it indicates what is to come with the album, they are in for a ride.
