Thandiwe Newton's sudden exit from "Magic Mike's Last Dance" may have been caused by emotional instability!
The English actress recently made headlines after dropping out of the strippers-centered franchise for family reasons, but new details claimed the 49-year-old could need rehabilitation.
According to PageSix, the mother-of-three allegedly suffered from emotional damages following the end of her 24-year-old marriage to the director Ol Parker.
The Truth About Thandiwe Newton's Exit From "Magic Mike's Last Dance"
The "Westworld" star was initially set to star alongside Channing Tatum in the third installment of the highly-anticipated "Magic Mike" franchise, but her weird behavior on the movie's set worried staffers.
Numerous sources claimed Newton struggled with "emotional and family problems" amid her recent separation from the father of her three children. One of the film's insiders said:
"Thandiwe had been acting strange on set, she has been very highly strung. Her apparent breakdown caused so much disruption, it became clear she couldn’t play the role."
The informant explained that the "Half of a yellow sun" actress could not handle the end of her longtime marriage, claiming the 49-year-old was "so stressed" that she needed her pet rabbits for "emotional support."
However, the adorable furry bunnies were not helpful as the insider revealed that the worrisome situation only grew after the "Beloved" star fired her UK agent of three decades.
In response, the entertainer's US agent Gaby Morgerman took a flight from Los Angeles to the set in hopes of rectifying the tense environment. The anonymous tipper said:
"Thandiwe’s team wants her to go to rehab for mental health support. She was supposed to leave immediately for a facility, they tried for a Malibu rehab, but they couldn’t take her."
"Arrangements are now being made to go to a facility in Arizona if she agrees to go," the source added.
It was previously reported that "The Chronicles of Riddick" actress did not willingly leave "Magic Mike 3," instead she got fired for fighting with Tatum, who served as both star and producer of the movie.
Speculations stated that the co-stars got into a heated argument over Will Smith’s controversial behavior at this year's Academy Awards ceremony.
However, various sources have refuted these rumors, claiming there was no "tense exchange of words" between Newton and the "21 Jump Street" actor as they continue to have an amicable relationship.
The production company's representative for Warner Bros. also shared that the 49-year-old's exit was family-oriented. In the spokesperson's words,
"Thandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step away from the production of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Magic Mike’s Last Dance to deal with family matters."
Although "The Pursuit of Happyness" actress's agent flew in from L.A. to resolve the situation, Morgerman's efforts ended with taking the entertainer back to the States.
At the time, it has not been confirmed if the mother-of-three would be checked into a rehabilitation facility, but the "All the Old Knives" star's replacement has already been revealed.

The "Magic Mike's Last Dance" showrunners officially have a new female lead in the form of the Mexican-American goddess Salma Hayek, who would wipe all traces of Newton from the movie.
According to the news outlet, the "Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" actress has been tasked with reshooting all the scenes involving the Westminster native's character.
About The "Vanishing on 7th Street" Actress's Adorable Three Children
As previously shared by PopSugar, Newton has three beautiful children with the "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" director, daughters Ripley, and Nico plus son Booker.
Surprisingly all three kids took after their mother, with the daughters resembling the "Run Fatboy Run" star to a point where they could easily be mistaken as her younger sisters.
The oldest Ripley was born in December 2000, and like her parents, the child pursued a creative career as a writer. Her first book "It's Not OK to Feel Blue and Other Lies," was released in 2019.
The second daughter Nico arrived in December 2004 and followed her parents into Hollywood, making her acting debut in the 2019 movie "Dumbo."
The only son Booker was welcomed via a home birth in March 2014. As the youngest child, the adorable boy has been repeatedly captured cozying up with his mom on Instagram.
