Anderson Cooper shares his unconventional parenting technique!
The American broadcast journalist, notably known for his work as CNN's longtime news anchor, recently revealed a funny way to make his children bond.
While appearing on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," the TV personality discussed the relationship between his two sons, Wyatt Morgan and 8-weeks baby Sebastian Luke.
Anderson Cooper Wants His Sons To Develop A Strong Sibling Bond
On Wednesday, April 6, the "Anderson Cooper 360°" host opened up about his plan to help his children create a dynamic brotherly relationship.
The father-of-two explained that he was "worried" about his older son Wyatt's ability to adjust to a new baby in the house, a problem the 54-year-old experienced as a child.
According to the political commentator, his late brother Carter Vanderbilt Cooper had a difficult time adjusting when the CNN star was born. In his words:
"When I came, my brother was like 2 years and four months older and every childhood photo I have is I'm very happy as a little baby and my brother's chewing the inside of his lip."
To ensure that his children do not go down the same path, the "60 Minutes" star decided to slowly introduce the brothers to each other without forcing their relationship.
"I'm doing a slow roll with Sebastian," the media personality explained, " I didn't want Wyatt's life to suddenly cataclysmically change... Wyatt's not on top of him every day. We go out a lot and stuff."
Going slow and steady was not the only tactic the 18-time Emmy Award winner had as he shared a special method for getting Wyatt to like Sebastian.
"I've started doing this thing with Wyatt where we both sort of make fun of Sebastian," the journalist revealed, noting that this technique was not done in a bad way.
The father-of-two continued, "I started doing this thing like when Sebastian's crying, Wyatt will look at me and I'll look at him and I'll go, 'Wah! I'm a baby. I'm crying.'"
According to the doting parent, the older sibling enjoyed the hilarious display and also mimicked his father's acting whenever Sebastian cried.
For those worried that the baby would grow up being teased by his family, the GLAAD Media Award winner assured viewers that he would stop before Sebastian got older.
While Wyatt's relationship with his younger brother continues to develop, the toddler enjoyed a thriving friendship with Andy Cohen's son Ben.
Earlier this month, "The Rainbow Comes and Goes" author's longtime friend posted a picture of their children at the "Watch What Happens Live" studio.
Cooper confessed that he loved the image because the kids looked exactly like the miniature versions of himself and Cohen.
The 54-year-old teased Ben for smiling like the Bravo star, who always stirred up trouble with his antics, and stated that Wyatt's confused expression matched his whenever he appeared on Cohen's show.

As previously reported by The Blast, the news anchor welcomed his second son in February and shared the exciting news via a CNN broadcast.
At the time, the proud father-of-two announced Sebastian's arrival by taking viewers down memory lane with adorable pictures of his firstborn.
After recalling Wyatt's birth during the pandemic, the journalist showed a recent picture of the toddler alongside the happy news. The TV personality said:
"If he looks particularly happy in this picture, it’s because he now has a baby brother. His name is Sebastian, and I would like you to meet him."
Following the announcement, the 54-year-old gave a special shout-out to the surrogate for her tremendous contributions to his family and that of his former partner Benjamin Maisani.
Although the ex-couple separated in 2018, the pair remain best friends and co-parents. Cooper explained that both his children have been officially adopted by Maisani, making their last names "Maisani-Cooper."
Unfortunately, the "Planet in Peril" star's late mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, did not get to meet her grandchildren despite wanting to carry them.
Last year, The Blast revealed that the late artist once offered to be her son's surrogate. At the time, the matriarch was 85-years-old but a gynecologist reportedly stated she could have a child.
