Ariana Grande Pledges Massive Donation To Fight Anti-Trans Legislation

Ariana Grande is putting her money where her mouth is.
Ari recently announced she'd be making a massive donation to help fight “disgraceful” anti-trans legislation.
On March 31, the “Dangerous Woman” announced she’d be donating nearly two million dollars to the “Protect & Defend Trans Youth Fund.”
Ariana Is Fighting To Defend Trans Youth Against Harmful Legislation
“This fund was created to support organizations providing direct services and advocating for the rights of trans youth,” the Instagram post read. “Right now, there are hundreds of bills pending in state legislatures across the United States that target trans youth and aim to curb their rights. The impact of fighting these anti-trans bills and policies is felt all year by trans people, their families and love ones.”
Ariana announced that she would be matching all funds raised up to $1.5million.

The funds raised will be split evenly between benefiting organizations including: Black Trans Advocacy coalition, Equality Florida, Gendernexus, House of Tulip, JASMYN, Lucie’s Place, One Iowa, Our Spot KC, Pride Link, Southern Arizona Gender Alliance, Tennessee Equality Project, The Knight’s & Orchids Society, Transformation Project Advocacy Network, Transgender Advocates Knowledgeable Empowering, Transgender Education Network of Texas, Transanta, Transsocial, and the Zebra Coalition.

Ariana is a major supporter of the LBGTQIA+ community. Her brother, Frankie Grande, is an out and proud gay man.

According to a January 2022 report from NBC News, state lawmakers in at least seven states proposed laws that would limit the rights of transgender and nonbinary youths within the first week of the new year.
An Astounding Number Of Anti-Trans Legislation Has Been Proposed This Year
NBC News’ report continued, republican lawmakers in Arizona, Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, New Hampshire and South Dakota introduced at least nine measures that target trans and nonbinary youths, such as their ability to participate in sports, receive gender-affirming care or use the bathroom.
In 2021, more than 20 states introduced bills that prohibit health care for trans youth. Arkansas and Tennessee signed them into law.
According to a more recent report from NBCNews dating back to March 20, 2022, there’ have been nearly 240 anti-LGBTQ bills filed so far.
A majority of the legislation being introduced targets trans people.
The slate of legislation includes measures that would restrict LGBTQ issues in school curriculums, permit religious exemptions to discriminate against LGBTQ people and limit trans people’s ability to play sports, use bathrooms that correspond with their gender identity and receive gender-affirming health care.
