On Sunday morning, a shooting broke out in downtown Sacramento, California, not far from the theater where the sisters had just kicked off their 2022 tour. The mass shooting killed six people, including three men and three women, and injured at least 12 more people.

The police have revealed the identities of those killed to be Johntaya Alexander, Melinda Davis, Yamile Martinez-Andrade, Sergio Harris, Josua Hoye-Lucchesi, and Devazia Turner. The police are still unsure if the victims were targets.

They have also arrested a suspect, Dandrae Martin, who is suspected of having a connection with the shooting and is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of illegal firearms. Detectives and SWAT team members also searched several homes in the area and found one handgun.

In a statement made on Monday, Sacramento District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert said that she was expecting more arrests in the case and noted that they are yet to arrest Martin for “any homicide related to this incident.”

Aly & AJ Released Their First Album In 14 Years

The sister act released their first album in 14 years on May 7th, 2021. The album is titled “a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun.” The duo spoke with People about the album and their tour.

Aly said, “It feels like the first time in a weird way, like making a record for the first time. In a bizarre way, it feels like a record that you make as an artist without all of the jaded aspects that come with being an act that has been around for 15-plus years.”

“That’s kind of the exciting part for us with this album is that we weren’t writing this for anyone specifically, we weren’t writing this for radio — we wrote this for us, first and foremost, and our fans,” she said.
