21 Savage was born in the United Kingdom, as ICE claims, but he disputes the immigration agency's timeline of events and says his family came to the United States much earlier than they allege.

21 Savage is going on the record for the first time, through his reps, and revealing the timeline of his international travels, claiming he has actually been in the United States since the age of 7. He claims he left for a month in 2005 and came back but had a valid visa.

ICE has claimed that is when he came to the country for the first time at the age of 12.

According to Savage's birth certificate, the star was born in Newham, a borough in London, in 1992.

Reps for Savage are adamant he lost his legal status "through no fault of his own," and say he applied for a visa in 2017, once he realized his illegal classification.

Savage's entire family — including his sisters, mother and children — are legally in the United States and some are citizens. His reps stress that he's not a flight risk because his loved ones are in the country. They are pleading for the rapper to be released from custody so that he may put together a defense and provide for his family.

Savage's legal team claims, "like almost two million of his immigrant child peers, was left without immigration status as a young child with no way to fix his immigration status. These 'Dreamers' come from all walks of life and every ethnicity."

As we reported, Savage's legal team has been trying to clear the immigration issue up for months. Regardless of his efforts, ICE has placed the star into removal proceedings and he is currently waiting for his case to be heard in the federal immigration courts.

Savage's team also claim there is speculation he was targeted by ICE over recent music he recently released criticizing immigration and border practices.
