Sadly, “The Walking Dead” has come to a close.
The AMC zombie apocalypse series first debuted on October 31, 2010, and is currently wrapping up its 11th and final season.
“The Walking Dead” cast has seen very few survivors make it from the pilot to the finale, but those that did are taking the time to celebrate more than a decade worth of work.

“The Walking Dead” executive producer Greg Nicotero pulled Norman Reedus in for a video. “Come on, dude,” he said. “We’re doing the last day video.” He reflected on the last “twelve years” as Reedus put his arm around him.
“Love you, buddy,” Reedus replied. “Thank you for everything. It’s been a real joy.”
“Dude, remember when we were babies and we started this show and you had short hair?” he asked. “Do you remember?”
“I feel like my entire brain is short-circuiting right now,” Reedus replied. “I can’t really wrap my head around this.”
“It’s hard,” Nicotero admitted. “But 12 hours from now the world’s going to be a different place.”
“Yeah, I’ll be on the bathroom floor with a martini in tears,” Reedus joked.

On his own Instagram account, Reedus shared his own video. It shows a much younger Reedus throwing an arm around costar Melissa McBride.
“That’s a wrap. 11 seasons 12 years,” he wrote. “Never been so beat up and it was an absolute blast. Thank you to all of you that took this ride with us and what a ride it was ❤️”
Although the main series may be drawing to a close, fan-favorite characters Daryl Dixon (Reedus) and Carol Peletier, played by Melissa McBride, will return in a spin-off series that is expected to debut sometime in 2023. The spin-off will be created by “The Walking Dead” showrunner Angela Kang and Scott M. Gimple.
