Hollywood star Olivia Munn recently opened up about the challenges and struggles she faced after giving birth to her first child, Malcolm, with her partner John Mulaney

"Post Partum life right now: everyone's asleep except me," the "X-Men: Apocalypse" star captioned the mirror picture she posted on her Instagram.

She added that she was certain there was grime on her sweatshirt as she had been wearing it for several days. "I'm so so happy and at the same time I'm struggling (weird to feel both simultaneously yet so grateful to have all the happiness to keep me afloat)," the 41-year-old actress concluded.

Before this, she had previously discussed her troubles with breastfeeding.

"Any other moms taking all the supplements and teas and tinctures yet barely make milk? 8 weeks in and I've taken a million vitamins, countless teas, lozenges, tinctures and worked with two lactation consultants. Breastfeeding. Is. Hard."

In another Instagram Story, the actress posted an image of her cute puppy cuddling with her pillow. "At least someone is making good use of my breastfeeding pillow," she captioned.

"What's helped me the most is when friends tell me not to compare myself to other pregnant women," she explained. During her interview with SiriusXM's "Pop Culture Spotlight," she shared how pregnancy had changed her body and the insecurities that stemmed from it. She admitted feeling the same kind of insecurity she felt when she entered the industry.

"I was called so many things that I was too big to be on TV. Then I would start to under-eat, 'cause I would hear those messages and try to take that message myself and be like, 'Fine you think I'm…sure call me fat, I'm fat, sure, whatever,'" she reminisced.

To quell the criticism, Munn mentioned that she would "try to take those things people were calling me, and try to own them myself." However, she struggled "behind the scenes" and consulted medical personnel for weight loss tips.

"I entered a cycle of eating too much, overeating [and] under-eating, which eventually led me to be more critical of my appearance.

Being pregnant has brought up all those feelings because there is so much of a, 'How am I supposed to do it right?' And I know there is no right, I understand that, but it's hard, especially to have so many images in your face of what looks like perfection," she concluded.
