Betty White passed away on December 31, 2021, just 18 days shy of her 100th birthday.
The ‘Golden Girls’ star has been dearly missed by her peers and millions around the world.
On Sunday, March 27, the Hollywood icon was remembered at the 94th Academy Awards during the “In Memoriam” segment.
Jamie Lee Curtis brought a rescued puppy onstage to not only give a nod to Betty’s love for animals, but also get the word out about pet adoption.

But that’s not all the actress did to remember Betty.
Curtis’ blue, bejeweled Oscars gown was also a nod to the late-actress.
In an interview with People magazine, Curtis said, “My first thought was that I should bring out a rescue dog with me since Betty White loved animals more than people. It would honor her legacy of activism and support for animal rights.”

In addition, Curtis’ dress was made by Steel McCartney, a known animal rights supporter who uses sustainable, non-animal materials in her work. McCartney was also one of Betty’s favorite designers.
While saying goodbye to Betty was hard enough, those close to her are having to say goodbye to something very near and dear to her heart as well.
The legendary actress’ Carmel, CA. beach house has been listed just three months after her passing.
Betty and her beloved husband, Allen Ludden, built the three-story water-front property in the 1980s. Unfortunately, Ludden passed away shortly after it was completed.

Nicole Truszkowski of Truszkowski Freedman & Associates, Sotheby's International Realty - Carmel Brokerage, who holds the listing alongside Zak Freedman, told People, “The home embodies the spirit of Betty and Allen. It was eloquently understated with the focus on nature and the natural beauty surrounding the home.”
Betty considered this property her “special sanctuary.”
Truszkowski added, “Spending time in Carmel was one of Betty's favorite things to do. She enjoyed many treasured moments with her family and close friends.”
Betty’s former beach house is 3,600-square-feet and features four bedrooms with four and a half bathrooms.
