Miley Cyrus recently performed in Brazil and had some choice words about her previous marriage. The actress was with Liam Hemsworth for around ten years before their short-lived marriage. The two got together while filming a movie when Cyrus was sixteen.
The on and off relationship progressed till they got engaged in 2012 but called the entire relationship off in 2013. To the joy of fans, they came back together in 2016, and by 2018, the dreadful fire which took their Malibu home happened. The couple tied the knot by December that year.
The marriage lasted barely a year before the two divorced, and Cyrus recently revealed what she thought of the entire time. She called the marriage “a f---ing disaster” while wishing a gay couple she brought on stage a happy married life.
Miley Cyrus Called Her Failed Marriage ‘A F---Ing Disaster’
Cyrus split from Australian actor Hemsworth years ago. Still, the Disney alum has no problem saying how she felt about their failed marriage. During a Saturday night performance at Lollapalooza in Brazil, the actress reportedly brought up a gay couple on stage for their proposal.

As seen on a video shared on twitter, while congratulating a newly engaged couple, Cyrus called her previous marriage a disaster. She said, “Honey, I hope your marriage goes better than mine; mine was a f---ing disaster.”
The couple met as far back as 2009 on the set of “The Last Song.” After dating for a few years, the actors got engaged in 2012 but called it off a year later. After years of separation, they got back together in 2016 and, by 2018, had their famed short-lived private wedding.
Cyrus Broke Up With Hemsworth In 2013
After their engagement, the duo seemed to be in a good place and lived together, but things started to go wrong. In April, they postponed their wedding, and Cyrus unfollowed the “Hunger Games” actor by September. The engagement was officially called off not long after.
When talking to Barbara Walter in December that year, Cyrus said, “I don’t think I realized what 19 truly is, and I got engaged at 19, and I definitely wouldn’t change being engaged.” She added that while it was “fun” wearing the engagement ring, “now [she] just feels like I can actually be happy.”
The “Hannah Montana” actress also said that she was going through a big change at that time. Cyrus added, “And changing with someone else, not changing like that is too hard. Suddenly you’re like, ‘I don’t recognize you anymore.’”
Cyrus Said Her House Burning Down Might Have Caused The Marriage
The duo got back together in 2016, and by 2018, they were married. When discussing the former marriage, Cyrus revealed that she didn’t know if it would have happened without her Malibu home burning down that year.
As per Daily Mail, she said, “We had been like, engaged. I don’t know if we really ever thought we were actually going to get married, but when we lost our house in Malibu, which if you listen to my voice pre-and post-fire, they’re very different, so that trauma really affected my voice.”
The “Lola” actress revealed that she was in South Africa when the fire happened and couldn’t travel immediately. She reportedly lost “everything” due to the fire outbreak. “I lost everything,” she said. “I had so much, and it was all gone; every song I had ever written was in that house.”
The Disney alum continued, “Every photograph of me that my parents had given to me, all my scripts, I lost everything.” The “Wrecking Ball” singer added that she clung to “what [she] had left of that house, which was me and him” due to the devastation.
Miley Cyrus’ Relationship Lasted Nine Months
The two got married in a private December wedding that year, but it was short-lived. Their split came after a picture of Cyrus kissing Kaitlynn Carter made rounds on the internet. In August, a rep for the singer reached out to People saying, “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time.”
“Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers,” they continued. Hemsworth apparently filed for the divorce. By January 2020, the proceedings “marked by significant bitterness on both sides” finally came to a close.
Cyrus dated Cody Simpson for around ten months after the divorce. On the other hand, Hemsworth briefly dated “Dynasty” actress Maddison Brown, then became involved with Gabriella Brooks. The couple is reportedly still going strong, and the model went on a ski trip with Hemsworth’s family last Christmas.
Miley Cyrus recently announced her upcoming live album, "ATTENTION" and has also released a brand new trailer to whet fans appetite as they anticipate the live albums release.
