The Oscars snub comedy legend, Bob Saget!
Each year, the prestigious award ceremony remembers some of the world's most beloved entertainers in their In Memoriam segment. However, a few critical names were usually excluded.
After the 94th Academy Awards ceremony, fans called foul play after the showrunners honored Hollywood icons who died in the past year but omitted Saget's name.
Bob Saget's Fans Criticize The Oscars After In Memoriam Snub
This year's Oscars In Memoriam segment was an emotional rollercoaster given the number of entertainment veterans that died and their impacts on the industry.
For the first time, the show featured first-person tributes to these late stars, including Tyler Perry paying homage to Sidney Poitier, the first Black winner of the Best Actor Oscar.
Bill Murray's praised the late Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, while Betty White's memory was honored by Jamie Lee Curtis. The In Memoriam list also included William Hurt, Michael K. Williams, Stephen Sondheim, Olympia Dukakis, etc.
Although this should have been a heartwarming moment, fans flooded Twitter in outrage as Saget, who died in January, wasn't mentioned along with his coworkers.
This snub came as a surprise to many as the Philadelphia native was an Oscar winner. The late comedian received the student Academy Award for his 1977 documentary, "Through Adam’s Eyes."

The "Full House" star's admirers made their displeasure known by tagging the Academy Awards in numerous tweets for failing to acknowledge the renowned entertainer.
A female fan stated that she would start a riot because of the Oscars' glaring omission, while another Twitter user asked the question on everyone's mind:
"No, but seriously, why wasn’t Bob Saget in the Memoriam? #Oscars."
One fan didn't even want answers to this question but the immediate cancellation of the Academy Awards. The individual wrote, "Cancel the #Oscars for not mentioning Bob Saget in the Memoriam."
The slight against the "How I Met Your Mother" star wasn't the only thing fans were upset about, as some people called out the show organizers for staging the fight between Chris Rock and Will Smith.
Before the In Memoriam segment began, the "King Richard" star shocked everyone at Dolby Theater by striking the 57-year-old comedian for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

According to a Twitter conspiracy theorist, this altercation was a "desperate" attempt to garner the viewer's attention. The social media user wrote:
"No Bob Saget #Inmemoriam? Really lame, #Oscars. That and your desperate rigged Chris Rock/Will Smith stunt to get people to care."
Several of the "Dirty Work" actor's fans agreed the Academy Awards showrunners did a horrible job by not giving Saget the recognition he deserved.
To a particular fan, the "most outrageous part of the Oscars" was the absence of the late comedian in the In Memoriam segment.
The "Raising Dad" Star Died From A Severe Head Injury
Last month, The Blast reported that the mystery surrounding the late comedian's death baffled authorities as investigations showed he died from a severe head injury.
According to the police, the intensity of Saget's head trauma was similar to getting hit by a bat or falling from at least 30 feet.
However, investigators believed there was no foul play in the "Fuller House" star's death as evidence gathered at the scene implied the entertainer was alone hours before his death.
At the time, the stand-up personality had performed a show in Jacksonville before embarking on a 2-hour drive to his Ritz-Carlton hotel in Orlando.
The 65-year-old was found unresponsive while tucked in bed, which made everyone wonder how he received the severe head injury that caused internal bleeding.
To answer this question, law enforcers came up with a working theory that the comedian's death was accidental. According to them, the father-of-three must have slammed his head against the bed's headboard.
Based on the investigation, authorities believed Saget must have lost consciousness following the collision, making the headboard the obvious suspect.
However, the mystery behind the Oscar winner's death continued to grow as his family filed a lawsuit against the release of further information, including photographs of his hotel room.
As previously shared by The Blast, the Grammy nominee's daughter Lara warned the public against spreading gossip and implored fans to allow her family to grieve privately.
