"007's Road to a Million" is finally set to begin production. The competition series is the first officially sanctioned Bond TV series and was recently ordered by Amazon. Via Variety, production for the show will apparently kick off this later year before launching on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories.
The series will revolve around different contestants embroiled in a global competition to bag the ultimate prize of £1 million ($1.3 million). The competition will be a test of intelligence and endurance, and filming will take place in the many historic locations shown over time in the seminal Bond films.
The contestants are mandated to overcome physical obstacles and, in two-person teams, give the correct answers to questions. These questions will be hidden in different locations worldwide and have to be answered to move to the next stage.

According to Variety, the competition series was in the works at Prime Video four years ago. The MGM $8.45 billion deal with Amazon was recently finalized. The series will apparently be separated from other tv shows that may result from the pact.
Former Channel 4 executive, Dom Bird, joined MGM back in 2019 to supervise the unscripted unit and will be part of the series. Bird will apparently manage the series on behalf of the studio. The show's executive producers include the CEO of 72 films, David Glover, EON Productions' Wilson and Broccoli and Barry Poznick and Mark Burnett from MGM.
Prime Video has its own share of U.K. originals, including "Clarkson's Farm" and "All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur." "The Rig," "Anansi Boys," "Jungle," and several others are also dramas part of the U.K. originals.
Producers Of The James Bond Movies Are Part Of The TV Show
In addition to MGM, and 72 films, the new Bond Tv series will be assisted by the original producers of the Bond films, Broccoli and Wilson. CEO of 72 films talked about the competition show and how honored he was to work with the producers.
Glover said, "I first had this idea over three years ago. Dan Grabiner and the U.K. Originals team took it to 5a whole other level. To be working with Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and the Bond Franchise is a privilege and a dream come true."
"007's Road to a Million" is apparently recruiting contestants to try for the £1 million cash prize. The site for application read, "We're looking for teams of two to take on this exciting mission, jet setting across this globe, facing challenges and using general knowledge for your chance to win the cash!"
Craig Just Wrapped Up His Time As James Bond
"007's Road to a Million" is coming at a time the franchise is between Bond actors. The last actor to take up the bond mantle, Daniel Craig, wrapped up his time as the super spy last year with "No Time to Die." Broccoli and Wilson are currently tasked with the duty of finding a new actor to take on the role of the womanizing spy.
The Bond actor previously refused to return as the superspy after his fourth movie in the franchise, "Spectre," in 2015. He reportedly said he'd rather "slit [his] wrist" before returning to screen but was eventually convinced to make a final appearance in "No Time to Die."
Broccoli said the movie "tied up all the loose ends" that "Spectre" didn't and concluded Craig's character. "We've done everything we can possibly do with this movie," she said. (Craig) has tied up all the loose ends of the storyline. There's nowhere for him to go from here."
