Naomi Watts Desires To Star In Another Movie With Close Pal Nicole Kidman

It's not unusual for performers who have to spend months shooting a movie to become pals on set. Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox, Julia Roberts and George Clooney, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams are just a few celebrities who formed close bonds while filming a project.
Likewise, it's not unexpected that once they've made an excellent movie together, one of them wants to do it again. Best friends Naomi Watts and Nicole Kidman aren't left out of this select group, with the former recently revealing her desire to reunite with her best friend and "Flirting" co-star Nicole Kidman.
Naomi Watts Wants To Work With Nicole Kidman On A New Project
In an interview withGood Day New York's Rosanna Scotto on Wednesday, Watts stated her desire to start again with Kidman, if only to relive the same experience they had on the set of their nineties film "Flirting."
"We've been talking about it for too long; we've gotta make it happen," said Watts while discussing with Scotto. "Now that we're getting to the age where it's like, we just want to spend more time with each other. Let's just get on a set, so we can have good, lengthy conversations on a daily basis and share meals."
Watts and Kidman are still looking for the appropriate project to unleash their great skill into. Given Watts' enthusiasm throughout the interview, it's reasonable to think that fans won't have to wait long to see both performers on screen together.
Watts And Kidman's Friendship Blossomed While Filming 'Flirting'
"Flirting" premiered in 1991, featuring Kidman as Nicola Radcliffe and Watts as Janet. At the time, the pair were already acquainted with their selves. However, staring on the same set was the fire they needed to fuel their connection.
"We already knew each other, but that's when our friendship forged," Watts once disclosed to People. "We've gone through a lot together over a significant amount of time."
"That history binds you," she continued. "We have a strong respect and love for one another."
One of Watts' first performances in Hollywood was in "Flirting," which also acts as a keepsake for her alongside the memories of her bonding with her friend.
Watts Said Kidman Inspired Her To Persevere In Acting
During the early stage of one's acting career, hustling for roles was by no means an easy feat. For Watts, pushing through this tough time was mainly due to Kidman's encouragement and push.
"Back in the day, you fueled me with hope and encouragement. You kept saying, 'Nai, one thing, one thing. That's all it takes. It will change everything.' And it's only later that I realized the true power of that statement,"
Watts disclosed in a 2015 interview with People. "The sisterhood needs many more friends like you, and the world needs many more people like you."
Naomi Watts And Nicole Kidman Have A Strong Respect For Each Other
The duo often describes themselves as sisters, further alluding to the special connection they share. The two have remained close through personal ups and downs, and Watts, 48, attributes their 26-year friendship to "respect" for one another.
Separately, they have built their own families but still find time to hang out together, as seen from Watts's statement to People, sharing a deeper detail about their jolly connection.
"If you hang out with us, you'll have fun," says Watts. "I'll promise you that."
Coincidentally, the two friends also have children around the same age: Watts has two boys Alexander, nine, and Samuel, eight, and Kidman has two daughters, Sunday, eight, and Faith, six.
