Fans who love Doja Cat are going to be shocked to hear this news!
The American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer was born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini. She’s made a name for herself in the music industry after making and releasing music on SoundCloud as a teenager.
However, it seems that the 26-year-old L.A. native is about to walk away from her music career for good after she didn’t give fans a good show last night.
Doja Cat Breaks Down, Changes Twitter Name To ‘I Quit’
Apparently, fans were pretty vocal about not getting to meet the rapper after her Paraguay show was canceled due to her storm. They complained of waiting for hours out in the rain, only for her to be a no-show.
One of Doja Cat’s deleted posts read: “There was a storm in Paraguay, the show got canceled. When I left the next morning, there wasn’t one person outside the hotel waiting for me. Let that sink in ...I regret spending all the time I did getting ready that day for the show I’ve been busting my a-- every day to put on for you but god bless. (sic).”

On Thursday, she tweeted, “I don’t think I gave Brazil a good enough show tonight at all and I’m sorry for that but thank you guys for coming out I f--ing love you and thank god we got another show tomorrow I promise I’ll do better.”
However, it seems that the backlash only got worse from there. Three hours later, Doja Cat changed her Twitter name to “I quit” and said she was walking away from the music industry completely.
Doja Cat: ‘This S--- Ain’t For Me So I’m Out. Y’all Take Care’
In a series of protected and deleted tweets, Doja Cat can be seen replying to fans. One fan says, “Doja, you’re not going to win this fight against the Paraguayans” after Doja says, “I’m not sorry.”
“I moved on I’m just gonna let everybody be mad,” she continued. “I’m not taking pictures again with anybody else after this tour.”
That’s when things got heated. It’s unclear what exactly tipped the scales over the edge, but Doja wrote, “it’s gone and i don’t give a f--- anymore i f---in quit i can’t wait to f---ing disappear and i don’t need you to believe in me anymore. Everything is dead to me, music is dead, and i’m a f---ing fool for ever thinking i was made for this this is a f---ing nightmare unfollow me.”
She followed it up with, “This s--- ain’t for me so I’m out. Y’all take care.”
Doja Cat Hasn't Been Happy With Her Career For A While!
As The Blast previously reported, Doja Cat went on an Instagram Live back in December 2021 to talk about how her busy career means that she can't due other things in her free time. She said that she was so busy doing interviews, fashion shoots, and gigs that she didn't have time to do what she wanted to do.
“I’m doing all of this s--- that I don’t f---ing want to do,” she said. “I don’t wanna take f---ing pictures… I love fashion… I love to dress up… I feel pressured to do s--- like that. I don’t f---ing wanna do that.”
In other since-deleted tweets, she also claimed that she was overworked and tired of her career.
“I’m just tired and I don’t want to do anything. I’m not happy. :/ I’m done saying yes to mother—ers cuz I can’t even have a week to just chill,” she wrote in a tweet that has since been deleted. She also spoke out against people who claimed that she was suffering from depression due to her success, saying, “Don’t ever f—ing diagnose me. Don’t diagnose me, don’t diagnose other people because are you a doctor? I’m sorry. Are you!?”
Between her previous tweets and this latest Twitter tirade, it seems that the Grammy-nominee may be truly ready to walk away from her career once and for all.
