Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Recently Announced ‘Archetypes’
Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, recently announced their first podcast series, titled “Archetypes.” The podcast series is part of the multi-year partnership their company, Archewell Audio, made with streaming giant Spotify.
Markle herself will host the podcast and investigate the origins of the stereotypes that are forced onto women and negatively impact them. The series is produced by Spotify’s Gimlet Media and Archewell Audio.
According to their press release, the episodes will feature interviews with historians and other experts that will help the Duchess of Sussex uncover how these labels came around.
Spotify Released A Teaser Clip
The former Suits actress will also have conversations with women whose perceptions of themselves and of other women have been impacted by stereotypes. Shortly after the announcement of the podcast, Spotify released a teaser clip from the podcast.
Markle features in the teaser clip, saying, “This is how we talk about women: the words that raise our girls, and how the media reflects women back to us. But where do these stereotypes come from? And how do they keep showing up and defining our lives?”
She explains that these questions are at the heart of the podcast and that “I’ll have conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape our narratives. And I’ll talk to historians to understand how we even got here in the first place.”
The Couple Have Dabbled In Podcasts Before
“Archetypes” will be the first podcast series to come from their deal with Spotify, but it isn’t their first attempt at podcasting. They previously released a special holiday podcast on Spotify in December 2020.
The special episodes featured several celebrity guests, and they discussed the motivation that people used to get through the hardships that 2020 brought.
The final episode ended with a special surprise for fans and listeners: an audio recording of Markle and Prince Harry’s son, Archie. In the audio, he says, “Happy… New…Year!” to cheers and laughter from his parents in the background.

Markle and Prince Harry named their daughter after his mother, the late Princess Diana, and the current Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth. It was a move that endeared them to many people and which fans saw as a great honor to the late Princess.
Lillibet was born in June 2021, and the couple posted a statement on their website to inform fans and well-wishers that their new daughter was “more than we could have ever imagined” and that they were super grateful for the love and prayers shared with them.
