Chick-fil-A is in a bucket full of trouble with one city in California.
The Christian-based fast-food joint was been trending on Twitter on Monday, March 21.
One Chick-fil-A’s drive-thru in Southern California has been such a hot commodity that local officials want to deem it a “public nuisance.”
If you don’t know anything about Southern California, here is one thing to know.
Traffic is TERRIBLE!
Chick-fil-A Is Causing A Traffic Jam!
So, to add more traffic to an already overcrowded city… the public outrage kind of makes sense.
Officials in Santa Barbara, CA. said some motorists couldn’t even cross the road due to the massive lines at the restaurant’s drive-thru, because they sit in traffic for hours on end.
According to a report by CBS News, “The city’s traffic engineer, police chief and community development director have evaluated the situation and believe that the persistent traffic back-up onto State Street is a public nuisance and that the nuisance is caused by the operation of a drive-through at the Chick-fil-A restaurant.”
Per the evaluation, the line of cars at the drive-thru window blocks one lane on the public roadway for up to 90 minutes on weekdays and 155 minutes on weekends.

Kristin Sneddon, a Santa Barbara City Council member, told New York Post, “Chick-fil-A has a good problem here. They are so successful they have outgrown their side. It’s possible they were oversized for that site to begin with.”
The city council voted unanimously to move forward on the “public nuisance” designation but agreed to keep a public hearing on the move open until June 7.
People on Twitter sounded off with some comical comments.
“Ngl I’d be pissed too if I sat in 2 hours of traffic bc of a Chik-fil-a lmao,” one person wrote.
Another wrote, “The city can f**k right off into the sun, but the. Chik-Fil-A can change their operation to get cars through more efficiently. I’ve seen armies of people taking orders, directing traffic, and a. door installed instead of a window to allow food to go out quicker.”
One person put it bluntly, “We just really don’t give a s**t about a Chik-fil-A in California causing traffic problems. 🤦🏻♂️.”
The entire discussion around this particular Chick-fil-A has led some to talk politics.

“No. It’s under scrutiny because lefties don’t like Chick-fil-A. They don’t have any problem with BLM thugs casing traffic issues,” one person tweeted.
Another wrote, “Chick–fil–A is a public nuisance. If someone’s drive thru consistently spills out and blocks traffic, what is the libertarian solution?”
