Actor Norman Reedus reportedly suffered a concussion on the set of “The Walking Dead” but he is, fortunately, doing better.
The AMC zombie series is based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman. The show first debuted on October 31, 2010, and has spawned multiple spin-off series. The show, which films in Georgia, is currently wrapping up its eleventh and final season. Reedus has been with the show since its very first season.
Norman Reedus Suffers Concussion On 'The Walking Dead' Set
Deadline reported that the incident happened on Friday, March 11, while the cast and crew were filming the show’s final episodes in Georgia.
A spokesperson for the actor, Jeffrey Chassen, explained that “Norman suffered a concussion on set.” However, he added that “He is recovering well and will return to work soon. Thank you to everyone for their concern.”
Although the incident happened on “The Walking Dead” set, it is unknown at this time if the accident occurred while Reedus was filming. It is also not clear if Reedus' injury will cause AMC to postpone the final wrap day for the series.
This is also not the first time that Reedus has had an accident while filming. In 2015, Reedus cut up his arm while filming a scene in a barn for the fifth season’s episode called “Them.” Although the injury was allegedly captured on camera, it was never shown on screen.

Fortunately, it seems that Reedus is feeling better. In an Instagram message posted to his account on Friday night, he revealed that he has been cleared to return to work on Tuesday, March 22.
“Thank u for the nice thoughts it’s been a week. or two,” he began. “I was in an accident. but getting better getting cleared and gonna be back at work Tuesday they tell me.”
“And sorry bout the Atlanta event I was looking forward to it,” he added. “Most of all thank you for the eye in the dark messages I really loved that little cat 🐈⬛”
Many fans showered the post with offers of hugs and heart emojis.
“All my condolences again 🥺 there are no words really…❤️ and please don’t apologize for having been hurt, we are just all glad you are ok!” one fan wrote. “There will be other events, but there’s just one you! So please take care! We will be looking forward to next time… we aren’t going anywhere 😍”
Reedus had been scheduled to appear at the “Fandemic Dead” Atlanta show, which took place from March 18 to March 20. As Deadline reported, “Reedus’ Boondock Saints co-star Sean Patrick Flannery, Fear The Walking Dead’s Jenna Elfman, TWD‘s Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Melissa McBride, Seth Gilliam, and Cailey Fleming, as well as vets of the show David Morrissey and Sarah Wayne Callies, were among those set to attend the self-described ‘comic convention experience’ at the Georgia World Congress Center this weekend.”

Although the main series may be drawing to a close, fan-favorite characters Daryl Dixon (Reedus) and Carol Peletier, played by Melissa McBride, will return in a spin-off series that is expected to debut sometime in 2023. The spin-off will be created by “The Walking Dead” showrunner Angela Kang and Scott M. Gimple.
Not much is known about the show so far, but it will most likely be taking place after the last season of “The Walking Dead” draws to a close, so fans will just have to wait and see!
This is also not the only spin-off starring two fan-favorite characters. Earlier this month, AMC revealed that Lauren Cohan’s Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan will be getting their very off spin-off show called “Isle of the Dead.”
Although Negan brutally murdered Maggie’s husband Glenn (Steven Yeun) and friend Abraham (Michael Cudilitz), Maddie and Negan have been forced to work together to survive the zombie apocalypse.
This latest series marks the fifth spin-off show in “The Walking Dead” universe. The show is said to have six episodes in its first season and will be created by former “The Walking Dead” writer Eli Journé.
