In early March, the Internet was swirling with rumors that Pete Davidson was about to head into space with Jeff Bezos and his Blue Origin space crew.

By early March, it seemed that the contract had been finalized, as Blue Origin announced the news on Monday, March 14. However, for undisclosed reasons, the “Saturday Night Live” comedian backed out a few days later after the trip was rescheduled.

Pete Davidson Said He Was Going To Space... Then He Backed Out!

On Monday morning, the Blue Origin Twitter account posted a short statement that read, “#NewShepard mission #NS20 will include Marty Allen, @NBCSNL’s Pete Davidson, @SharonHagle, Marc Hagle, @JimKitchen, and @DrGeorgeNield. Liftoff on March 23 is targeted for 8:30 am CDT / 13:30 UTC from Launch Site One.”

The upcoming NS-20 flight on March 23 was said to include Pete Davidson, Marty Allen, husband and wife duo Sharon and Marc Hagle, Jim Kitchen, and Dr. George Nield. A statement on the website confirmed that this is the fourth human space flight for their New Shepard program and the 20th in its history.

Each member of the spaceflight will be given a postcard to space on behalf of their foundation, Club for the Future. Their Postcards to Space program gives students access to space on Blue Origin’s rockets. The aim of the organization is to inspire students to pursue careers in the STEM field.

Jim Kitchen commented on the Twitter post, saying, “I am truly honored to be a part of this mission!”

Other fans joked that “Donda” rapper Kanye Westmight try to sabotage the space flight, given the public nature of their recent feud. Maybe it seems that Ye did try to sabotage the trip, as Pete backed out after the trip got rescheduled.

Fans Hope That Kanye West Will Replace Pete Davidson In Latest Blue Origin Space Flight!

On Thursday, Blue Origin posted a statement to Twitter that read, “Blue Origin's 20th flight of New Shepard has shifted to Tuesday, March 29. Pete Davidson is no longer able to join the NS-20 crew on this mission. We will announce the sixth crew member in the coming days.”

Many fans openly wondered why Davidson suddenly was unable to take the trip. Although the most likely reason is that it conflicted with his busy filming schedule, as he’s been skipping out on “Saturday Night Live” in order to shoot for his upcoming horror movie “Home,” no one can say for sure.

“imagine Kanye becomes the 6th member,” one person commented.

“Take @kanyeweest instead thanks,” said Austin Braun, to which another replied, “Yes and leave him up there.”

Writer Karla Rodriguez tweeted, “Get Kanye on the phone!”

However, it's unlikely to take place, as Ye has major beef with Jeff Bezos.

Although the “Donda” rapper has been taking shots at Pete for dating his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, Kanye also took the time to shade Jeff Bezos over the Super Bowl weekend back in February.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Kanye wrote, “THANKS SHADE ROOM FOR ALWAYS SHOWING LOVE THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME TO CONTROL MY OWN NARRATIVE AND NOT WRITING ME OFF WHEN A TEAM WINS THE SUPER BOWL WE DON’T COMMENT ON HOW SWEATY THEY GOT OR HOW MUCH PAIN THEY SUFFERED IN THAT GAME ITS ABOUT TAKING HOME THAT TROPHY SO WHEN I GET ON MY GRAM IM NOT AFRAID TO GET SWEATY OR TAKE A HIT FOR MY FAMILY THIS IS NOT A RANT THIS IS CALLED FREEDOM OF SPEECH I AM A FORM OF MEDIA BEZOS BOUGHT THE WALL STREET JOURNAL AND WILL STILL NEVER HAVE THIS LEVEL OF INFLUENCE NO MATTER HOW MANY DINNERS HE DOES WITH MY WIFE AND SKETER AND PAGE SIX STOP USING BAD PHOTOS OF ME YALL THAT WHOLE OFFICE WOULD DIE TO GO ON A DATE.”

Although Ye claimed that Bezos bought the Wall Street Journal, Bezos actually bought The Washington Post for $250 million back in August 2013. Either way, it seems to be plenty enough reason for Bezos not to bring Ye into space with him.
