Shawn Mendes might be four-months single, but he’s not looking back with regret on his relationship with Camila Cabello.
The “Senorita” singer opened up to Billboard in a new interview, and opened up about his previous relationship with the “Havana” songstress.
The former couple stirred up relationship rumors years prior to becoming “officially, official” in 2019.
Shawn Mendes' Priorities Have Shifted!
Shawn and Camila dated throughout the height of the pandemic, which is one of the reasons why they decided to part ways.
There was huge fanfare around their relationship and the couple was constantly hounded by paparazzi.
Fans were in love with their love story, but for Shawn he couldn’t care less about the hysteria surrounding his relationship with Camila.
Shawn Wasn't Phased By Relationship Hysteria
When asked if the fascination around his relationship bothered him, he told the music outlet, “I honestly don’t care.”
Shawn’s longtime manager, Andrew Gertler, said the singer is great at “cutting through the clutter.”
The singer’s future in music is one that will be more authentic and centered.
“I never want to stop playing, even if I’m playing for 10 people in a bar,” he says. “And I only want to play bigger shows if I get to do it by making music that’s authentic.”
Shawn’s also turned his attention post-breakup to meditation.
Camila and the “In My Blood” singer parted ways after two and a half years together.
They announced their breakup on social media with corresponding statements.
Following The Breakup, Mendes Turned To Meditation
Fans of “ShawMila,” as they were so aptly called, were STUNNED when the couple announced their breakup on Instagram.
The now-former couple shared a joint statement that read, “Hey guys we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever. We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends.”
The statement concluded with appreciation for their fans overwhelming support and love from the start.
The ex-couple stayed true to their promise about remaining friends, and the pair have been photographed out and about in recent months.
As previously mentioned, Shawn is taking this time to focus on himself, new music and his spirituality.

“I think everybody has a moment where they just decide it’s time to kind of do something different,” Shawn shared. Now spirituality is “a part of my life that is much bigger than I actually even let on.”
Speaking of doing things different, Shawn is no longer worried about having chart topper after chart topper.
He wants to make music that he wants to hear, not what other people want to hear.
“There was a long while where I was convinced that you just had to write big songs. The type of music that I want to make, what I want to hear and what is important to me.”
Coldplay front man, Chris Martin, said, “I think he really cares deeply about what he’s singing and how he’s singing it. I don’t think he’s just in it for the fame or just in it for the money or anything like that. I think he holds the responsibility that he has really well because he has been a teen idol and everything. The music could be the last thing on his mind, but I think it’s at the forefront of his instead. He wants to sing things that really hit people deeply, and I think he’s getting better and better at doing that. So I just champion him all the way.”
