On Sunday, March 13, Obama broke the news that he tested positive for Covid-19 in a candid Twitter post. He explained that his symptoms were mild and revolved around a throat itch.

The former Head of State also confirmed that his wife Michelle Obama has surprisingly not contracted the disease. He also expressed his gratitude for being vaccinated. His tweet read:

"I just tested positive for COVID. I've had a scratchy throat for a couple days, but am feeling fine otherwise. Michelle and I are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted, and she has tested negative."

Obama wrote that his situation is a reminder to members of the public to get vaccinated if they were yet to, even if the COVID-19 cases go down.

The former Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces reiterated his statement in a Facebook post, according to CNN. He noted that he and his wife are thankful to be vaccinated and boosted and continued:

"It's a good reminder that, even as cases go down, you should get vaccinated and boosted if you haven't already to help prevent more serious symptoms and giving COVID to others."

The outlet revealed that after spending much of his winter season in Hawaii, Obama returned to DC. A source close to him said he eventually contracted the virus in Washington.

The positive diagnosis of the "Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream" author is second to Donald Trump, who contracted the condition in October 2020.

Trump's diagnosis came when the vaccines were not readily available in the United States, leading him to have stronger symptoms.

Nevertheless, Obama continues to champion the cause of public health by promoting safety measures for the pandemic.

Last August, the political figure drastically scaled back the plans for his 60th birthday bash at Martha's vineyards over concerns about the Delta variant of the coronavirus at the time.

Data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that only around 7 million persons, who account for 2% of the population in the US, reside in a county with high COVID-19 community levels.

Obama's tweet about staying protected despite lowering cases stems from the fact that the rest of the population resides at low and medium levels where no masking recommendations exist.

Earlier this month, President Joe Biden addressed how to safely move into a less disruptive pandemic era during the first State of the Union address.

Biden admitted that most Americans are exhausted and frustrated, but Covid-19 no longer needs to control people's lives due to the progress made in the past year.

The 44Th US President Flaunts Ripped Physique On Hawaiian Family Trip

Obama is not just vaccinated and boosted; he is also in his best physical form yet. Before arriving in Washington, he was captured in Hawaii looking fit enough for the runway!

Last December, The Blast revealed that The Obama family traveled to Hawaii for their annual Christmas trip where the patriarch flaunted his ripped body.

Images surfaced on Twitter of the "A Promised Land" author enjoying a relaxing dip in the crystal clear waters of the Island with daughters, Sasha and Malia by his side.

Paparazzi also took photos of the ladies having the time of their lives while riding stand-up paddleboards with their dad, who was taking full advantage of his semi-retirement.

The girls did not let their father steal all the spotlight and sported eye-catching beachwear. Sasha, who was on winter break from the University of Michigan, wore a red thong Bikini.

Malia, a Harvard University alum, also took a break from work, where she was reportedly part of the writing team for a new Daniel Glover movie.

Obama's physical state shows that he is not only protected with his booster shot but taking other health measures by staying fit as well. These factors will no doubt boost his recovery from COVID-19.
