Grimes Explains Her Relationship Status With Elon Musk After Baby #2!

Grimes is single *again* after announcing the birth of her second child with Elon Musk.

The singer revealed the on-again, off-again couple welcomed a daughter together in December 2021.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the new mother-of-two revealed that she was not pregnant with a child, but rather, she and Musk had their baby via surrogate.

They have a 22-month-old son, X Æ A-Xii, together.

Prior to this bombshell interview, Musk and Grimes were seemingly on the outs with their relationship, but it seems between the decision to have a second child and her interview, they rekindled.

Now, Grimes is setting the record straight about her relationship status with the Tesla CEO.

In a tweet published on Thursday, March 10, Grimes told fans, “Me and E have broken up *again* since the writing of this article haha, but he’s my best friend and the love of my life, and my life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now, I think Devin wrote that part of the story rly well. Sique - peace out.”

In the event you were curious what the heck she meant by “the mission,” she clarified it in another tweet.

“PS ‘The Mission’ is Sustainable energy, making humanity a multiplanetary species and the preservation of consciousness,” Grimes wrote.

One fan responded, “As long as you’re both happy—this is what matters. Labels aren’t important. What IS is that you both follow and love from your hearts. Congratulations on your new baby. And also, you nor Elon don’t owe anyone info on ur private lives so don’t feel bad for trying to stay private.”

Another replied, “I'm bummed you seem to have to go through heart troubles as a new mom. I hope you are at least happy and congrats on welcoming a baby girl.”

One positive fan wished Grimes the best writing, “I wish you, elon and all your children happiness, security and love whether you’re together or not. Love comes in many forms, finding your best friend is truly special ❤️.”

The couple called it quits in September 2021 after dating for three years, but they reconciled, as Grimes told Vanity Fair.

“There’s no real word for it,” she explained. “I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we’re very fluid.”

Grimes also shared that she and Musk “live in separate houses” and that they are “best friends.”

She continued, “We see each other all the time…. We just have our own thing going on, and I don’t expect other people to understand it.”

As to whether they’re happy, Grimes said, “This is the best it’s ever been…. We just need to be free.”

She also said that she and the tech billionaire are looking into growing their family, saying, “We’ve always wanted at least three or four.”

Musk has five children from a previous relationship.

I guess you could say he’s down to create his own space force of kids.
