The latest trailer for “Bridgerton” season 2 just dropped and fans are expecting another steamy story.

What Is Going To Happen In ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2?

The “Bridgerton” series is an adaptation of the book series written by author Julia Quinn. The first book focused on the love life of Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor. The second book of the series – and now the second season of the Netflix show – is going to focus on the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Lord Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey.

Anthony is searching for a suitable wife when he meets Kate, played by Simone Ashley, and her younger sister Edwina, played by Charithra Chandran. Although Anthony begins to court Edwina, Kate deems it an ill-fated match and tries to stop the union. However, as Anthony and Kate begin to butt heads, they also begin to fall for one another as well.

Many familiar faces from the first season will be making a reappearance, including Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Harriet Cains (Philipa Featherington), Bessie Carter (Prudence Featherington), Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne Basset), Ruth Gemmel (Violet Bridgerton), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth Bridgerton), Claudia Jessie (Elouise Bridgerton), Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton), Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton), and Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte). Julie Andrews will continue to be the voice of Lady Whistledown.

The show will also see some new faces in Rupert Young (Jack), Calam Lynch (Theo Sharpe), and Shelley Conn (Mary Sharma).

Chris Van Dusen is serving as the showrunner for the show’s sophomore season. Betsy Beers and Shonda Rhimes have returned to executive produce the show as well.

‘Bridgerton’ Season 2 Trailer Teases ‘What Happens When Duty Is In Conflict With The Heart’s True Desire’

Season 2 of “Bridgerton” is promising fans “considerable scandal.” A synopsis for the show reads, “Duty, desire and scandal collide when Viscount Anthony Bridgerton decides to marry, only to meet his match in his intended bride's headstrong big sister.”

Many fans were blown away by the chemistry in the trailer and can’t wait to see how the relationship between the two develops over season 2.

“Well, kate & anthony's chemistry is going to be everything this season,” one fan wrote.

“The chemistry between simone ashley (kate) and jonathan bailey (anthony) is incredible,” another commented. “The sisterly bond between kate and edwina really comes through too. the sharma family casting was impeccable.”

“Their chemistry is straight out of the book,” said another. “So excited for season 2.”

Fans Are Excited To Finally See Indian Culture Portrayed In A Period Drama

“Omg they're having a haldi ceremony for Edwina (part of Indian culture, bride dresses in yellow and turmeric paste is applied all over her body - it is believed that'll make her skin glow on her wedding day),” another explained. “Well, colour me impressed, they're really taking the cultural aspect of the story to amazing lengths!”

“Finally after 200 years of imperial rule, British Indians get a considerable spot on world-famous shows,” another said. “Happy to see Indian culture being shown (Turmeric ceremony on Edwina - aka "Haldi" in Hindi).”

Season 2 of “Bridgerton” will be available to stream on Netflix on Friday, March 25. Fans can watch the trailer below.
