Ryan Seacrest And Julianne Hough Remain Friends Years After Breakup

Years after their breakup in 2013, TV personality Ryan Seacrest and ex-girlfriend and actress Julianne Hough have revealed that their split didn't affect their friendship and that they have remained on very good terms during the years since. 

Once a fan-favorite couple, many fans were heartbroken when they announced their split. So, it's really good news that they've remained good friends even through subsequent relationships and divorces. Read on to find out more about their relationship. 

47-year-old Seacrest recently hosted Hough and her brother Derek Hough on his talk show, On-Air With Ryan Seacrest, and they talked about their former relationship and how their interactions have been since the famous split. 

Seacrest revealed that his On-Air co-hosts were worried that the interview could be uncomfortable for him, Hough, and her brother. The siblings appeared on the show to promote their upcoming special Step Into… The Movies with Derek and Julianne Hough.

The American Idol host said, "Sisanie and Tanya have been asking me if this is awkward for me, and I said, 'Not at all.'" Derek jokingly replied, "It's awkward for me!" and Hough said, "We're friends, we chat."

Seacrest explained to his guests that his co-hosts "don't understand that concept that 

one can remain friends after a breakup. Or after dating or whatever happened." It was evident during the episode that Seacrest and Hough were comfortable with each other.

He also said, "Julianne feels the same I do. There is nothing uncomfortable about it because we remained friends for years and still are." The Dancing With The Stars pro agreed with Seacrest and said that the two are good pals and have "respect and love" for each other. 

After dating for over two years, during which they became a fan-favorite celebrity couple, Peoplemagazine confirmed in 2013 that Seacrest and Hough had decided to take a break from their relationship and had started living apart. 

According to their sources, the former couple's work schedules were a big challenge for them, as they were extremely busy, and it weighed on their relationship. Seacrest and Hough had spoken severally in the past about their difficulties with balancing a career and a relationship. 

In an interview with Parade, Hough said, "It's a hard thing to do, especially when you're so caught up in your work and bettering yourself. I think at the end of the day you have to find a balance with what's really important."

In December 2021, after the press got hints about Seacrest's relationship with model and screenwriter Aubrey Paige, he played coy and teased fans about her during a promotion interview for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest special. 

He said, "I guess we'll have to stay tuned to see who I kiss on New Year's Eve."

On the other hand, Hough has had a busy couple of years since their split. She married ice hockey player Brooks Laich in 2017, and in 2020, they announced their divorce. 

They finalized the process in February this year. However, by November, Hough seemed to have moved on as she was spotted having an intimate moment with model Charlie Wilson in Los Angeles.
