Taron Egerton fainted on stage while performing his play, "Cock." The actor is known for his role as Gary "Eggsy" Unwin in "Kingsman: The Secret Service" and several other movies. He snagged attention after graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in 2012.

Since then, the actor has starred in numerous roles, including Elton John in Dexter Fletcher's musical biopic, and even bagged an award for the role. Egerton took the stage for "Cock" previews but had an unfortunate incident while performing.

The actor passed out on stage just three-fourths into the play and had to be attended to by a doctor in the audience. In a recent Instagram post, Egerton revealed that all was well with him once again, and he planned on coming back on stage as soon as possible.

Egerton Said He Was Feeling Better

Egerton recently collapsed in the middle of performing his "Cock" play at the Ambassadors Theatre in London. The "Rocketman" actor was set to act in London's Leicester Square beside Jonathan Bailey of "Bridgerton" fame; however, he fainted on Saturday.

The incident happened just three-fourths into the play, and the production was halted. Egerton's understudy, Joel Harper-Jackson, took over from the actor and concluded the evening's performance.

The Welsh actor just reached out to the public to say he was doing just fine and would return to the stage in no time. He posted an Instagram story that read, "As some of you may have heard, I passed out during the first performance of 'Cock' last night. I am completely fine. Slightly sore neck and a bruised ego, but I'm fine."

Egerton Says He'll Be Back On Stage

Luckily for Egerton, a doctor was part of the audience who watched his play. Via Independent, the doctor assisted the passed-out actor after the show was paused. After a 40 minute break, the play director Marianne Elliott announced that the 32-year-old was doing fine and would be replaced by Jackson for the remaining 15 minutes of the production.

Judging from Egerton's Instagram story, Elliott was telling the truth. The actor said he would appreciate some positive feedback about his performance and would be back on stage the next night.

Egerton wrote, "I've decided to put a positive spin on it, and I would appreciate it if anyone who was in the theatre last night just said that I gave such a committed, electrifying performance that my body couldn't handle it and checked out." He added, "That being said, apparently you're meant to do the full show and not just three-quarters of it. So I'll be back with a vengeance tomorrow night."

'Cock’ First Debuted In 2009

Egerton concluded his post by thanking everyone involved in the production of "Cock," from the crew down to his castmates. The actor also thanked Jackson for finishing the Saturday performance after he passed out.

He said, "Thank you to the amazing team at the theatre and my wonderful castmates for being so lovely. But mainly, I wanted to say thanks to Hoel Harper Jackson, who stepped in to do the last bit of the play. Joel is an amazing actor and a lovely person. Thank you Joel. T x."

Egerton starred alongside Phil Daniels and Jade Anouka in "Cock." The production was written by Mike Bartlett and first debuted in 2009. "Cock” follows the life of a man named John, played by "Bridgerton" actor Jonathan Bailey.

John is currently in a long-term relationship with his boyfriend, "M," played by Egerton. However, everything changes when the character meets a woman and falls in love despite previously identifying as gay. This leads the character to question his sexuality and choices.

Egerton Said He Enjoyed Working On 'Cock'

The play will reportedly continue its performance on March 7; however, its official opening date is March 15. It will run till June 4. According to Deadline, the previews will continue till Monday, and the production will run for 12 weeks.

Egerton previously mentioned how he loved working on "Cock" and was having "the best time." The actor wrote via Instagram, "Three weeks into rehearsing for @cocktheplayldn and having the best time. I knew it would be hard work preparing for COCK, but I had no idea COCK would be so much fun."

After Egerton's performance on "Cock," the actor will be in "Tetris" and part of the cast in the Apple series titled "In With the Devil." He acted in 2019 "Rocketman" as Elton John and bagged a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical.
