One of the best surprises from "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was a cameo from Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil. Charlie Cox played the lawyer and vigilante, and it was a surprise to fans how well he kept his feature a secret until the movie’s premiere.
Cox later revealed that only his family, friends, and a select few knew about his surprise cameo. He did say that one fellow Marvel actor, Tom Hiddleston knew about the cameo. Read on to find out what he said.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, Cox said, “One of my first phone calls, and I knew I could tell him because I also knew he knew, was Tom Hiddleston, he’s one of my best friends.”
He shared that at the time, Hiddleston was in the middle of filming for Loki, the Marvel/Disney series that delves into what happens to the god of mischief after his death in “Avengers: Endgame.”
He recalled that Hiddleston said, “Whatever you do when the film comes out, you’ve got to sneak into the back of a theater because it will go crazy.’” He recalled that he immediately thought it wouldn’t go that way.
He said, “It’ll be nice to be there, but I think he’s thinking what it would be like for Loki to appear in that moment, where the Loki fan base is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my life.”
He Previously Played Matt Murdock Aka Daredevil
Cox acted as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, on the Netflix/Marvel series of the same name. The show premiered in 2015 ended after three seasons in 2018. In the show, Cox played Murdock, a blind man who fights to overcome the challenges of his blindness and fights criminals as a lawyer and as a vigilante named Daredevil.
Following Netflix’s cancellation of the show, Daredevil fans rallied heavily for them to revive the show for more seasons. There were several petitions, but they were all to no avail, and Murdock hasn’t been on screen until his cameo in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
He Appeared At The Beginning Of The Film

Cox’s cameo as Murdock was within the first few minutes of “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” At the beginning of the film, Peter (played by Holland) struggled with all the changes in his life after his identity as Spider-Man was revealed in the previous Spider-Man movie.
Murdock then showed up in Peter’s apartment with Happy Hogan (played by Jon Favreau) to give some insight into Peter’s situation to the teen web-slinger and Aunt May (played by Marisa Tomei).
He gave them some legal advice and showed off his superhuman skills by catching a cement brick that someone threw through the window behind him. When Peter showed surprise, he cheekily chalked up his skills to being “a really good lawyer.”
The Moment Received Mixed Reactions

Cox’s cameo received a lot of praise from fans on social media, although many didn’t realize it was him until others pointed it out. Some fans were too excited to see the most anticipated moment of the movie (Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s appearance) to notice Cox.
In a recent interview with RadioTimes, Cox revealed that when he snuck into a showing of the film with his wife to witness the audience’s reaction to his cameo, it was “dead fucking quiet!”
