Julia Fox Believes Owning A Birkin Is 'Anxiety-Inducing' And 'A Lot Of Pressure'

Julia Fox and Kanye West's now ended romance were made public right from the get-go. The couple bared it all from their first date together, which involved a change of wardrobe and a full-on photoshoot to their dramatic public appearances.

One of these events includes West gifting Fox and her friends Birkin bags on the actress's birthday. The coveted fashion items are worth no less than $10,000, so it's no surprise that Fox and her friends were ecstatic about the gifts.

Weeks after their breakup, Fox opened up about how owning a Hermés Birkin was going. She revealed that toting the bag around was "anxiety-inducing," which put her under a lot of pressure. She also admitted that she put the pricey bag back in its box just days after receiving the gift.

Fox's Hermés Birkin bag caused quite a stir last month. The actress was gifted the bag by West on her 32nd birthday along with a number of her friends. Although the bag certainly seemed like the best gift at that time, Fox feels slightly differently after owning the pricey fashion item for just a few weeks.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, she revealed that the bag was "anxiety-inducing," so she didn't take it out as much as she thought she would. After just a few days of carrying the coveted purse around, Fox admitted that she put it back in its box.

The "Uncut Gems" actress revealed that owning the bag was "a lot of pressure," and she always felt like checking up on the bag to make sure it was still there. "I don't know if you know about owning a Birkin when you're not a rich person, but it's like the most anxiety-inducing thing ever," she revealed.

Fox continued, "You're checking on the Birkin, making sure it's still there, that it didn't magically grow wings. It's scary to have a Birkin. It's a lot of pressure."

A month ago, the "Donda" rapper gifted Fox and her friends Birkin bags to commemorate the actress's birthday. Each of the bags was worth $10,000 and above. The duo was still in their very public relationship at that time and seemingly in love.

A source told people that West made the move because he wanted Fox's celebration to be memorable. "Kanye wanted to make it special for Julia. He arranged for an extravagant birthday celebration. He showered Julia with gifts and even gifted her friends. Everyone had a great time. Kanye was happy. Julia was ecstatic," the source said.

The insider also added that Fox seemed like a good addition to the rapper's life and helped him relax. West was obviously having a similar impact on the actress if the videos she posted on her Instagram story were any indication. She also took pictures with her friends with their newly acquired Birkin bags.

Fox and West's romance came to an end last month. In the actress's interview with the New York Times, she talked about the six-week-long fling and what went wrong. According to Fox, the relationship continued to be "very hectic," even with her attempts at keeping up.

She said, "I tried my best to make it work. I already had a jam-packed life. How do I fit this really big personality into this already full life?" The actress then added that she lost about 15 Ibs during the relationship because she couldn't keep up.

Fox revealed that she had to make several last-minute decisions while dating the rapper. "It's a lot of last-minute decisions or deciding to go somewhere at the last minute and activating when needed. When I'm with Ye… But even when I'm with my son, it's also very difficult."

Not long after they called it quits, the 32-year-old let it be known that she was far from a heartbreak. Fox revealed that she was a hustler through and through in a deleted Instagram story and was never in love with West.

She wrote, "Why not see me for what I am, which is a #1 hustler. I came up yall lol and not only that, but Kanye and I are on good terms! I have love for him, but I wasn't in love w the man Jesus Christ; what do u guys think I am 12 years old?!"

The "Uncut Gems" actress also cleared the air concerning reports that she was crying after the breakup. Fox wrote, "and for the record, the only time I cried in 2022 was on Feb 6th on my dead BFF bday." This is referring to the suicide of Hollywood manager Chris Huvane.

Fox previously teased a tell-all book detailing her entire short-lived relationship with West. On the other hand, the rapper has refrained from speaking about the past relationship and is instead focused on getting back with his family.
