‘Lethal Weapon’ & 'Dark Shadows' Actor Mitchell Ryan Dead At 88

Actor Mitchell Ryan has passed away.

His stepdaughter, Denise Freed, told the Hollywood Reporter that Mitchell Ryan had passed away of congestive heart failure at his Los Angeles home on Friday. He was 88.

Mitchell Ryan appeared in the daytime soap opera “Dark Shadows” as the character of Burke Devlin, but he may be best known for his film roles that included “Halloween,” “Liar Liar,” “Magnum Force,” and “Judge Dredd.” He had over 130 acting credits to his name, which also included appearances in TV series like “Golden Girls,” “Murder, She Wrote,” and “Matlock.”

His “Dark Shadows” costar Kathryn Leigh Scott shared her condolences to Facebook. Scott had played Ryan’s love interest, Maggie Evans, on the vampire drama.

“My sweet, beloved friend Mitch died early this morning,” Scott wrote. “He was a great gift in my life. I cherish my warm memories of his beautiful soul. I’m heartbroken.”

Many fans also took to the comments to express their condolences.
