The Weeknd Discloses Stadium Tour & Launch Of Humanitarian Fund

Abel Tesfaye, also known as The Weeknd, has announced dates for his "After Hours Till Dawn" stadium tour, which begins on July 8 in his hometown Toronto and heads across North America before wrapping up in Los Angeles by September 2.

Doja Cat, who linked with the singer for "You Right" off Planet Her, serves as a special guest for this year's tour.

The 32-year-old singer announced via social media with a picture of his tour flier and captioned, "AFTER HOURS TIL DAWN WORLD TOUR // LEG 1: NORTH AMERICA. TICKETS ON SALE MARCH 10 LINK IN BIO."

Tickets for the North America dates go on sale on Thursday, March 10 at 10 am local time. Fans who originally had tickets for the "After Hours" tour in North America– scheduled in 2020 but canceled because of the pandemic–will have access to a presale starting March 4 and receive an email to that effect.

Verizon will offer an exclusive sale to the tour in the US through the customer loyalty program Verizon Up. Members will have early access to purchasing tickets from March 7 through March 9. There will also be a Spotify fans presale for top streamers of the Weeknd starting March 8.

The singer launched the XO Humanitarian Trust Fund with the United Nations World Food Program in honor of his announcement. He's contributing $1 from each ticket sold on the North American tour.

"As he launches his global tour, the Weeknd is not just lighting up the lives of his millions of fans – he is also shining a spotlight on the suffering of the millions threatened by famine. The XO Humanitarian Fund, Powered by the World Food Programme is a new dawn in the struggle to end global hunger and WFP is proud to partner with Abel to save lives. He is truly an inspiration to the next generation of humanitarians," said the WFP Executive Director, David Beasley, in a statement.

He will also donate $500,000, and WFP USA will donate $1 million to the fund. 

"The goal with this fund is to provide immediate life-saving support to people who are on the brink of starvation. I'm so thankful to have WFP as a partner and to further expand our reach to those who need it most," the Weeknd added.

The Weeknd recently announced his television special The Weeknd x The Dawn FM Experience on Prime Video. The musician expressed his glee as he discussed his latest project.

"I'm ecstatic to partner with Amazon to premiere the most elaborate live TV special I've ever done," the singer told NME. "Welcome to the next phase of Dawn FM — a purgatory otherworld where live performance, theatre, and performance art collide for a night out at the club."

The television special was created by the singer who collaborated with director Micah Bickham and director

La Mar C. Taylor. In addition to the television special, it will be featured on an eight-track live Ep on the Amazon Music platform.

On January 7, the singer dropped his fifth album, "Dawn FM." The album consisted of about 16 tracks and ran for 52 minutes. It included contributions from Oneohtrix Point Never, Tyler, Lil Wayne, the Creator, Swedish House Mafia, Max Martin, Calvin Harris.

Before releasing his album, The Weeknd previously released one of his tracks, "Take My Breath," to give fans a glimpse of what they should expect. The song was later featured in an Olympic promo for the US women's field and track team.

In his interview with GQ, he described the album as "the album I've always wanted to make."

"What makes any of my albums a successful album, especially this one, is me putting it out and getting excited to make the next one. So the excitement to make the next project means that this one was successful to me," he explained. "I want to do this forever. And even if I start getting into different mediums and different types of expressions, music will be right there. I'm not going to step away from it."

Rumors went agog after the star was spotted kissing Simi Khadra during his 32nd birthday in Las Vegas. 

Simi, who came with her sister Haze, attended the party alongside Future, Tristan Thompson, Drake, Hilary Duff, and Delilah Belle Hamlin. She was reported to be the singer's ex-girlfriend's friend, Bella Hadid, and has been photographed with the model on several occasions previously.

Shortly after, a source nullified all allegations and told People that the "Blinding Lights" singer and Khadra weren't an item.

"He's dating and is not in a committed relationship with anyone," the source said.
