Camila Cabello Releases 'Bam Bam' Collab With Ed Sheeran, Fans Think It's About Shawn Mendes!

In late February, Camila Cabello teased her new song “Bam Bam.”
The song was a collaboration with “Bad Habits” singer Ed Sheeran, who she called “one of my favorite people and artists ever.”
Cabello just celebrated her 25th birthday yesterday and revealed that her next studio album, Familia, will be out on April 8.
Camila Cabello Appears On The Late Late Show With James Corden To Promote 'Bam Bam'
On Thursday night, Camila appeared on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” to perform her new song, “Bam Bam” for the Stage 56 live audience. Although Ed Sheeran wasn’t there, Camila donned dark sunglasses and grabbed an acoustic guitar to lip-sync his part of the song.
“She never disappoints for me, and I love how she impersonated Ed...yep, seems like something she would do lol” one fan wrote. “Can't wait for the album.”

Camila Cabello Finally Releases ‘Bam Bam’ …Is It About Shawn Mendes?
In the comments to the video, many fans speculated that the song was about her ex, Shawn Mendes. The song begins: “You said you hated the ocean, but you’re surfin’ now.” After they broke up in 2021, Shawn posted photos of himself surfing on Instagram, although he previously told Jimmy Fallon that his biggest fear is “deep water” in 2020.
The next line begins, “I said I’d love you for life, but I just sold our house.” In December 2021, a month after their break-up, she sold her three-story villa in Hollywood Hills after living there for two years.
She sings, “We were kids at the start, I guess we’re grown-ups now, Couldn’t never imagine every havin’ doubts, but not everything works out.”
Other fans commented on the music. “It's absolutely incredible how she brings the old Latin sound and incorporates it in pop music giving a refreshment,” one fan wrote. “Hearing her Latin-influenced music is like drinking a very good lemonade. Also, Ed's sounds so good with Camila's...I would love a ballad from them too.”

'Bam Bam' Official Music Video Debuts On Friday Morning
Only a few hours after Camila Cabello released the audio track for the song, she released the music video at 10 AM EST.
“Her lyrics just got better and better, she’s growing so much, before she just talked about feelings but now she talks about stories and I really love it,” one fan commented. “I always wanted this kind of lyrics for Camila.”
