As much as David Dobrik jokes around and pranks his assistant, he’s taking a moment to thank her for saving his life.
The YouTuber recently opened up about a sticky situation he found himself in at a Los Angeles nightclub.
The conversation took place on the “Views” podcast with Dobrik, his assistant Natalie Mariduena and longtime pal Jason Nash.

Dobrik and the Vlog Squad have been traveling the world for the “dream” TV series on Discovery Plus, but their home base is Los Angeles, CA.
Recently, Dobrik and some friends were at a popular LA nightclub when a “dangerous shootout” broke out.
Gunshots were reportedly fired just meters away from Dobrik and company, including Natalie, and they were forced to flee from the scene.
On this particular night, the nightclub was closed off for an exclusive private event. Multiple A-list celebrities were reportedly inside the venue when gunfire broke out.

Nash chimed in, “Weren’t peeing outside the other night and there was gunshots?”
“OH MY GOD. Yeah,” Dobrik said.
Natalie seemed to forget they were so close to a shootout, because she said, “Where?”
“The only shooting we’ve ever been around our entire life,” Dobrik said sarcastically.
Both Dobrik and Natalie agreed it was a pretty crazy situation.
David & Natalie Recount The Crazy Situation
“We were outside of a club in LA and I went to go pee, like around the corner,” he explained. “The club was closed, but everyone was still trying to get in cause it was a huge afterparty. So, I went to go pee and then f***ing like six shots went off. I’ve never actually heard gunshots.”
Dobrik went on to say being next to gunshots was like being 10 feet away from a fire cracker.
“They went off and everyone was just f***ing running,” Dobrik continued.
Natalie added, “Scrambling, yeah. There were probably 100 people outside trying to get in, so there was a huge crowd. The police were already pulling up at the time to try and clear out the street and everything. And, as we were crossing the street leaving the club, you hear like six, seven, eight gunshots go off like a fire cracker.”
Natalie admitted she thought it was the police firing off blanks to get people to scatter, but lo and behold, they were real gunshots.
Luckily, she still had her wits about her given she was the designated driver of the night and got everyone, including Dobrik, into the Tesla and home safely.
David, Natalie & Crew Made It Home Safely
However, before getting to safety, Dobrik recalled running toward the action and seeing his “buddy” on the ground.
“I was running to where it all happened and my buddy was there on the ground who I haven’t seen in three, four years,” he said. “And he was on the ground and the cops were like, ‘Sir, are you hit? Are you hit?’ And he sees me and goes, ‘Dobrik???’ He gets up and immediately is like, ‘How have you been?’ He takes out his phone and goes, ‘I haven’t seen this dude in like three or four years.’ And snapped into like Instagram selfie mode.”
I guess the life of an influencer never stops, no matter what the situation is.
Thankfully no fatalities occurred, but there were a few people who did sustain injuries.
